About Your Trip

Enjoy an action-packed day on the water with our nearshore fishing charter in the Gulf of America—perfect for anglers who want great fishing without running far offshore.

We typically fish within 5 to 20 miles of the coast, working reefs, wrecks, hard bottom, and bait-rich waters that consistently hold quality fish. These productive nearshore zones offer steady action and a wide variety of species throughout the year. Depending on the season, you may target snapper,
grouper, king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, cobia, tripletail, sharks, and more.

Nearshore trips are ideal for families, beginners, and seasoned anglers alike. The shorter run time means more lines in the water and less travel, while still providing the opportunity to hook into powerful, hard-fighting fish. Whether we’re bottom fishing over structure or trolling along bait schools, our captain adjusts the plan to match the conditions and maximize your chances of success.

Our boat is clean, comfortable, and fully equipped with quality rods, reels, tackle, and bait. The captain is hands-on and ready to help—from baiting hooks and coaching technique to celebrating big catches and preparing your fish for the table.

With beautiful coastal views, frequent wildlife sightings, and consistent fishing action, our nearshore charters deliver an exciting Gulf experience without the long haul offshore. It’s the perfect blend of convenience, comfort, and great fishing—book your trip and get ready to bend some rods close to shore.

Independent Guide
Captain Ryan has spent more than 30 years on the water, turning a lifelong passion into the career he always dreamed of—becoming a professional charter fishing captain. From his earliest days fishing the Gulf and the bays along Florida’s west coast, he knew the water wasn’t just a hobby—it was home.

Today, Captain Ryan runs charters in and around Tampa Bay, where he has logged thousands of hours learning the tides, seasonal migrations, structure, and feeding patterns that make this
region one of the most productive fisheries on the Gulf Coast. His experience allows him to consistently put clients on fish, whether working the passes, nearshore reefs, or pushing into open water.

He specializes in targeting hard-fighting game fish of the open Gulf—species that test both skill and stamina. From powerful kingfish runs to high-speed pelagic strikes and bruiser bottom fish battles, Captain Ryan thrives on putting anglers in the middle of the action. His approach blends patience, preparation, and adaptability, always adjusting to conditions to give his clients the best possible opportunity.

Known for his calm demeanor, deep knowledge of local waters, and genuine enthusiasm, Captain Ryan welcomes everyone from first-time anglers to seasoned fishermen looking for a serious offshore challenge. For him, every trip is personal—because living the dream means helping others experience the thrill of the catch.

When you fish with Captain Ryan, you’re not just booking a charter—you’re stepping aboard with someone who has spent a lifetime earning his place at the helm.
