Captain Eric of Key Largo, Florida founded his charters based on a long tradition of family fishing. With a strong passion and genuine respect for the natural wonders of South Florida's Florida Keys, Captain Eric relishes the opportunity to show you and your group what it's all about!

Captain Eric grew up fishing the South Florida backcountry, reefs and offshore fishing spots since before he can remember. His father, a retired Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Officer, enjoyed spending time
on the water with his family and passing along the local knowledge needed to become one of the top anglers in South Florida.

After winning countless tournaments in Miami, Key Largo, Islamorada and the Bahamas, Captain Eric decided to turn his passion into a profession. His charter allows Captain Eric to share his amazing experiences fishing Key Largo with guests from everywhere.

Captain Eric specializes in reef and offshore fishing in Key Largo and the surrounding areas, and loves hosting families with kids onboard.

Offshore fishing in Key Largo focuses on the hunt for Sailfish, Marlin, Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi), Tuna, Wahoo, Cobia, Sharks, Barracuda, and several other species. Offshore fishing charters generally entails trolling the edge of the outer reef just off the coast of Key Largo. Captain Eric and his crew utilize multiple different types of baits, from lures and frozen baits to live bait. Frozen baits best attract Dolphin in Key Largo, while live bait is a favorite for Sailfish and Marlin. The team also utilizes kites at times, which is always a blast to be a part of.

While fishing out of Key Largo is year-round, target species is definitely seasonal. Summer and fall months bring large schools of Dolphin ("Mahi Mahi") to the offshore waters of Key Largo. Large Wahoo and tasty Tuna are also very common during the summer and fall seasons. Winter is when the Billfish arrive with spectacular live bait action! It's tough to beat reeling in a 100 lb Marlin as it dances above the waves.

Captain Eric and his team are dedicated conservationists and practice “catch and release” when landing all Billfish to ensure all generations can enjoy the thril of releasing these marvelous creatures.

In addition to offshore fishing, Reef fishing out of Key Largo offers another action-packed charter fishing experience. Along the coast of Key Largo lies a chain of natural reefs. Captain Eric likes to reef fish in Key Largo at depths between 5’ and 60’, normally in calmer waters thanks to the reef's protection. These crystal clear waters are home to a wide variety of fish; with over 500 different types of species to catch, you never know what you might be reeling in in this world-class fishery!

That being said, common catches include Snapper, Grouper, Hogfish, Yellowtail, Barracuda and more. A variety of sharks can also caught prowling the reefs off Key Largo. The intense power of these apex predators can tire out the best of 'em.

Families with kids get to learn about each species as Captain Eric and his crew try to share their knowledge with all of their fishing charter guests. Whether you are 5 years old or 100, this charter will show you “the catch of your life”!

Captain Erik was on time and prepared. That 35 foot contender got us to the spot quick.
Put us on his spot & pulled up some yellowtail and a half dozen keeper mutton. Two jumbos 10 and 15 pounds.
