About Your Trip

Reef Fishing in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico

Experience some of the most diverse and productive reef fishing in Puerto Rico, where the reef system extends from shallow 6-foot flats to depths of over 850 feet. The west coast of Puerto Rico offers a unique underwater landscape shaped by the Cordillera Central mountain range, which not only protects the region from prevailing winds but also continues beneath the surface, creating dramatic drop-offs, underwater ridges, canyons, and
reef structures that hold fish year-round.

Thanks to this natural protection, Cabo Rojo is known for its calm seas and crystal-clear waters, providing ideal conditions for both fishing and sightseeing. These clear waters allow for exciting visual techniques such as topwater sight fishing and sight jigging, while advanced sonar technology helps locate fish with precision over reefs, ledges, and deep-water structures.

Action can happen at any moment—from explosive topwater strikes over shallow reefs to vertical jigging over schools of fish suspended along underwater canyons and drop-offs. The area's unique bottom structure creates countless feeding zones that attract a wide variety of species and make every trip a new adventure.

Your captain was born and raised in Cabo Rojo and has spent a lifetime learning these waters. After graduating high school, he began his commercial fishing career, gaining extensive knowledge of the local reefs, seasonal migrations, and hidden fishing grounds. This experience provides access to special locations and productive areas that few anglers ever get to fish.

For anglers interested in exploring offshore reef structures, deeper canyons, and remote fishing grounds, customized trips are available. Pricing may vary depending on the distance and fishing style, but the experience is truly on another level. These offshore adventures offer access to some of the most spectacular underwater terrain in the Caribbean and the opportunity to fish waters rarely touched by others.

Whether you're casting topwater lures across shallow reefs, jigging over deep structure, or exploring offshore canyons, Cabo Rojo delivers a world-class reef fishing experience unlike anywhere else in Puerto Rico.

Raised in the Caribbean, I've been running these waters my whole life. From shallow flats to deep canyons, I've spent years commercial fishing and learning the west coast's hidden gems. Around here, we don't fish by luck, we fish by experience. Come aboard, enjoy the ride, and let's go find out what's biting!
