About Your Trip

Hop on board with Captain John and get ready for an exciting day of deep-water fishing in the Florida Gulf! The deep sea waters off of Panama City are great for going after some of the big game fish that Florida is known for.

On this 12-hour trip, Captain John will take you from Panama City out to the deep waters of the Florida Gulf where you can expect to target a huge selection of Grouper, Marlin, Mackerel, Shark, Snapper, Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Amberjack and many more. Depending on what you want to catch you can use one of a variety of methods, and Captain John's vessel is equipped for light tackle, artificial lures, heavy tackle, bottom fishing, trolling, jigging, drift fishing, and deep dropping. Just let Captain John know what you want to catch and he'll get you set up with the best method!

Captain John will provide all rods, reels, tackle, and Frozen bait. Customers can buy live bait for an additional cost at the marina or bait boat on the way out. All you need to bring are sunglasses, sunscreen, and any food and drinks you might want and a tip for the deckhand standard is 20%. These exciting full-day trips can host up to 6 people, so make sure you bring some good company and a camera.

The fishing license for the whole group is also included. There is a fish cleaning company at the dock called the Gut Hut they will take care of all of your fish cleaning needs including the option of vacuum sealing. We also have a new Tiki Bar at the marina for you while you wait with drinks TV's and some food options Feel free to bring food and drinks of your choice (Alcohol is allowed) as well as a cooler to bring home your day’s catch.

No matter how experienced you are, you’ll find a worthy opponent around these fisheries. Come chase Spanish Mackerel and Shark, or go after Snapper, Grouper, Amberjack, and Mahi.

Captain John has been fishing for 25 years and has been taking people fishing forever. He is local to the area and loves seeing his customers get their dream catch. Your safety onboard is Captain John’s top priority and he will also work to turn your fishing trip into a lasting memory. You will decide how you want to spend the day on the water but the captain will help out with any questions about techniques and species available.

You will be fishing from a 28’ Cape Horn center console powered by twin 300 HP Yamaha engines. She features navigational electronics and has room for up to six anglers. The boat features a live bait well, has a large ice box, carries Penn gear, as well as one electric reel for the elderly or anglers with disabilities when requested.

Fishing trips with Capt. John will see you fishing inshore and offshore. You can choose to explore inshore fisheries or head into the bay slow trolling for Mackerel, or bottom fishing for Snapper and Grouper.

You can purchase live bait on board. Catch cleaning may be available, but you best talk to the captain about it. Trips normally leave out of Bayside Marina on Panama City Beach, but pickups at other areas may be arranged. The captain also runs specials throughout the year, so please check back.

We can accommodate anglers of any level of fishing experience. You can use all types of bait and fishing styles to get the best chance for the best catch. Capt. John will work to make you happy and give you a trip of a lifetime. Hope you come back again to go after a bigger one! Fishing it's what we do.

Everything Else to Know

Food and drinks sunscreen sunglasses a cooler to take fish home and a tip for the deckhand standard is 20%. All equipment included.
You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 3 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 3 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

The rip current was bad so we agreed to cancel the trip and try for later date. This group keep their word and when we came back for vacation this year they made sure we were able to go out and man the trip was a blast. We had John and Tyler with us on the boat and they were awesome. John made sure my 3 kids and husband caught some fish. They caught several fish but we were not able to keep them due to several reasons. They hung to sharks but they were not able to get them in the boat before they broke the line. But it was so exciting to watch them all trying to reel them in. Needles to say John and Tyler never gave up until we caught something we could keep and eat. They knew what they were doing and how we could do it. This was our first ever experience deep sea fishing and I would highly recommend them if you are in PCB area and want to go deep sea fishing.

Captain John was great at communicating his plans leading up to the trip and made it his mission to make sure we caught plenty of fish and more importantly have fun! Withing the first hours we already had all of the fish we could take. I would give it a 6 star but it looks like it's not possible so 5 it is.

Weather was rough on the original date as well we had been dealing with storms and rough weather. Also I did cut the cost of the trip due to rough fishing. I do apologize for the weather but I did offer to cancel all together as well with no cost to you.
