The York River has a character that's difficult to put into words and even harder to forget. Steeped in colonial history, framed by dense wooded shorelines, and connected to the sweeping tidal expanse of the Chesapeake Bay, this is a waterway that rewards those who take the time to explore it properly. Osprey work the shallows, historic bluffs rise along the banks, and the river opens gradually into something that feels genuinely wild and unhurried. JP and his crew know every bend and landmark, and that intimate knowledge of the water elevates the entire experience from a boat ride into something worth remembering.

The vessel itself is a 37' Axopar Pilothouse, one of the most refined and well-appointed boats in its class, but the boat is just the backdrop. What JP's team has created onboard is a floating retreat. Step out of the sun and into the cabin whenever you're ready, or claim your spot on the oversized sunpad and let the afternoon drift by. Families are genuinely welcome here: there's a private stateroom where little ones can nap, children's and infant life jackets on hand, and a full bathroom so no one has to cut the day short. Cold drinks stay cold, the Bluetooth is yours, and a deck shower makes a mid-cruise swim an easy yes.

What to Expect?

Approximately five days before your trip, we’ll contact you to finish all pre-departure preparations and help you design your dream day. From sandbars and snorkeling to laid-back cruising, partying, fishing, or any mix, you’ll work directly with the captain we assign to bring your ideas to life. All documents and pre-trip items are handled digitally via text, ensuring a smooth start. Once on board, we’ll settle in and depart for your selected activities.

We hand-pick the best captains in the area for our roster so you can select the perfect one for your voyage. Once chosen, we’ll open a group chat so everyone can coordinate and create an outstanding day on the water together.

What to bring:

Experience has shown it’s smartest to bring whatever you need for a great day. You understand your requirements better than we do, but typical items include food, snacks, beverages (including alcohol), towels, sunscreen, Dramamine (if needed), a camera, shoes, etc.

Not Included:

Food & Drinks (BYO or purchase catering)

Fuel: Fuel is not included, as this allows you to truly do what you want to do or the flexibility to stay within your budget. Fuel ranges usually $100-500 per local trip, but most all trips are around $250 or less. A good budget, which is a pleasant surprise and that is rarely exceeded, is $300.

Snorkel gear (available as an Add-on, options communicated after booking)

Everything Else to Know

What to Bring: Drinks, Food, Snacks (Catering Available upon request), Snorkel Gear, Sunscreen, Towels.
This trip is managed by an outfitter. Jp will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 6 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 6 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a QR Code boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!
In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.
Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
