No matter the time of year, there is always something to catch in Destin FL! Captain Jonathan has been fishing these waters year-round and is an expert on fish habits through changing seasons.

For these Fall trips inshore, banner days can be had on Redfish and Trout in the flats and bayous. Most of the Redfish are going to be slot-sized and limits can certainly be had. Big bull reds are slightly fewer and further between, often lurking in the open water. To chase these, Captain Jonathan will scout the bays and shorelines for birds corralling schools of baitfish. These giant reds like to sit under these schools and get an easy meal.

You can also target Bluefish, Mangrove Snapper, and the occasional Shark in the inshores this time of year. You can use a variety of techniques to target these fish, and this vessel is equipped to handle bottom fishing, drift fishing, heavy tackle, jigging, light tackle, and trolling. Just let Captain Jonathan know what you want to catch and he'll get you squared away with the best method!

Captain Jonathan will meet you at the dock with a fully loaded 22' Cape Horn bay boat. Powered by a 250 HP Evinrude engine, this sturdy vessel will have no problem maneuvering the inshore Destin waters. She's equipped with a GPS, Fishfinder, a Live Bait Well, Multimedia System, Wireless Trolling Motor, and an Ice Box to store your catches. Captain Jonathon will even clean any keepers you bring in at the dock.

Captain Jonathan will provide all Rods, Reels, Tackle, Bait and Fishing licenses you will need for a wonderful fall day out on the water. All you need to bring is your weather-appropriate gear and your favorite snacks and drinks. Captain Jonathan will take care of the rest to ensure you have an outstanding day out on the water!

Jonathan is also very good with kids and always tries his best for every kid to get a chance at catching the fish of their dreams when given the opportunity.

Each trip consists of fun action-packed fishing on a Cape Horn fishing boat that is a 22’ center console, powered by a 300 HP Suzuki engine and accommodating up to 6 guests. It features life jackets, GPS, a fishfinder, a live bait tank, an ice-box for your catch, a cooler to keep drinks and snacks cold, along with a trolling motor which allows you to fish more difficult spots around surrounding bridges and structure.

Capt. Jonathan is very familiar with the local waters always puts 100% effort in trying to make your day on the water a great one. They typically are fishing in the bayous and bay flats along with gulf trips when the weather is nice. The bay areas consist of fish like Redfish, Spanish mackerel, Bluefish, Speckled Trout, and an occasional Flounder. While fishing in the gulf when the weather permits you can target Vermillion and Red Snapper, Kingfish, Triggerfish, Grouper, Amberjack, and sometimes even a Shark!

The crew provides you with everything you need… rods, reels, and tackle, as well as live bait when fishing techniques require it. Along with everything to fish they also include fishing licenses for everyone on the charter so your only worry is what to eat and drink while spending your day on the water. capt Jonathan will crew also clean and fillet your catch once back at the dock and have it ready to cook!

I’ve been part of 600+lb Blue Marlins.. 150+YFT’s… some really nice swordys but personally probabaly a 92.6lb cobia inshore and 125lb yellowfin offshore.
If you were cooking for all your friends what would you cook?
As much as I love to fish, I’m an opportunistic fish eat eater and would cook deer rolls or rib eye dinner! lol

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel up to 1 day before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

We were very disappointed with our fishing experience on Monday morning, July 28, 2025.

Captain Jonathan was about 20 minutes late picking us up at the Docks.

On June 20, 2025, we reserved the guided fishing trip for 4 people for 4 hours. Only 3 people were able to fish at a time…so each person did not have a 4-hour fishing experience. This boat should only be booked for 3 people max.
