Tagging along with my dad to catch the smaller fish he would use as bait for the bruisers cruising past was how I cut my teeth. From there I began fishing with friends on their boats, from docks and bridges, or off the sod banks. These early adventures stayed with me. They shaped who I became and how I fished. On the rare occasion I skipped school, it was to fish. And honestly, more than one sick day has been spent with a fishing rod in hand.

Today I run my guided fishing excursions with those adventures from the past in mind. I try to share my passion for fishing with everyone who comes out with me. I share my experience, my knowledge, and joy of the pursuit of fish. As a teacher, I know I have the ability to express the intricacies of fishing to anyone, regardless of age or experience.

Regardless of whether you are a novice who might be curious about a certain way to fish, or a seasoned angler looking for a trip out, I can accommodate you. We go where the fish are!"

Rapid Fire Guide Q & A

What’s the biggest fish you’ve caught?
On an offshore trip with a friend, we managed to hook into a massive blue marlin. The captain estimated it being over 1000 pounds. We fought the beast for 7.5 hours, then it suddenly died. It sank in 2000 feet of water. We tried everything to get the fish up, but the line finally parted. It was a tough loss, and an even tougher way to end the battle. It would've been great to have been able to release the big blue alive.
If you were cooking for all your friends what would you cook?
Probably lasagna. I make a killer lasagna. I cook it every year for the family at Christmas. I have a few other specialties, but the lasagna is always a favorite.

Whats your favorite band?
Killing Joke. I was really into punk rock in the early 80's, and just never lost my love for the music. Maybe not the attitude either... there really are so many bands that I love, but I'd have to say KJ is my fav.
Whats your favorite movie?
Wow, this is a tough one. I've watched Jaws, Blazing Saddles, Apocalypse Now, Young Frankenstein, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (and the rest of the trilogy movies), and a few others so many times. I love them all!
Whats your favorite sports team?
Vikings for football. Devils for hockey. Don't much care for baseball or basketball. Love to play them though.
Whats your drink of choice?
Iced tea that I brew.
What was your last halloween costume?
I'm ugly enough, who needs a mask?!
What do you want for Christmas this year?
I got it. A new French bulldog puppy.
How did you get started guiding?
Fishing has always been in my blood. I was always taking friends and family members out and showing them the ropes. So it was a pretty simple transition to guiding. And as a teacher, I truly enjoy showing others how to fish in a variety of ways.
What makes you different from other guides?
Not really sure. I work my butt off to put you on fish. I try every trick in my arsenal to get the most bites for you possible. I keep my boat immaculate, along with my gear. I'm pretty sure most guides do these things though. My goal each trip is to provide you with the best experience possible. Nobody should ever leave my boat, or walk off the beach, in a bad mood for any reason. Also, if the fishing sucks, or has been off lately, I'm going to let you know. I always base my trips on your desires. It's your adventure, I'm here to make it happen and meet your expectations, regardless of whether you are a beginner, or highly experienced angler.

I highly recommend bringing drinks and sun screen. I usually have sun screen onboard though. I also always have bug spray. NO AEROSOL sun screens or bug sprays. Squirt bottles, or creams only. Pack snacks or food if you'd like to have it. Depending of the time of year, a sweat shirt is a good idea, or a sun shirt. We can discuss clothing prior to your trip. NO BOOTS. Some live baits, like spot or clams, cost an extra premium. You will be informed prior. No surprises. I provide all rods and reels, net, rigs, plugs, metals, bait, and anything else needed to target the days fish. If paying with a credit card, there is a 4% fee.
You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 2 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 2 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

Frank clearly knows these waterways and is a true master of Stone Harbor / Cape May. He took us to 7 spots in 4 hours to find the fish and even stayed out with us longer than the original length of the trip. It also seems like he really cares about his customers and was great with the more green members of our group. Would easily book another trip next time we're in the area....
