About Your Trip

Hop aboard Captain Jay's 30ft Sea Hunt for a 4, 6, or 8-hour inshore adventure exploring Virginia's Coastal "Fish Highway!"

They call the coast of Virginia the “fish highway” due to the migration of so many species of fish. Different fish match different seasons, so there’s always something great to catch on these inshore trips with Captain Jay!

The 30ft Seahunt you'll be cruising on is a 2016 yacht-certified Sea Hunt Gamefish center console designed
for serious fishing. It is powered by twin 300-horsepower engines and cruises comfortably at 40+ knots (46 mph). She comes equipped with Simrad’s newest electronics suite; radar, fish-finder, and autopilot. It is comfortable with plenty of standing space and cushioned seats. Has a fully functional bathroom with a freshwater sink, and boasts a NEW Tuna/Cobia tower with full controls.

Beyond a fantastic boat and its luxurious amenities, Captain Jay will also provide all the tackle, bait, fishing licenses, bottled water, and an iced down cooler. He recommends you
bring your sunscreen, a hat, any food and beverages you'd like to enjoy, a cooler to take home your catch, and a 20% tip for the mate!

Not the trip I had expected, was expecting to use live bait, and get bigger fish. I understand fish don't always bite and it's all based on the fish and conditions, first off our captain didn't introduce himself to any of us, he didn't know any of our names, he rarely spoke to us, he actually spent alot of time on the phone. After getting out on the water we trollied around in circles for most of the trip only landing 5 Spanish mackerel and 1 bluefish. The 4 of us that was on the boat all felt like we was a burden to be there, the mate was a 14yr old boy which he did a good job for his age, the captain raised his voice at the mate a few times. It was more of a expensive boat ride than a experience! 2 of the 4 of us ended up not fishing (just reeling it in) cause they was just not having a good time at all. The trip was a HUGE let down on what we expected, waste of time and money!!! Called Captain experiences to let them know that it was horrible, they talked with the captain and reasoning for everything was the water conditions, IF this is the reasoning then why did the captain not wait till later to go out? The only thing they could offer was 10%off our next trip! Don't recommend as we all felt like they was more into it for the money than the actual experience!!!!
