About Your Trip

There’s nothing like spending some quality time on the water with a fishing rod in your hand and trophy fish on your mind. Get out there with Captain Joe and explore the Neuse River and the Pamlico Sound for big Speckled Trout, which congregate here in the fall and winter months.

Captain Joe specializes in light tackle fishing, and you can expect to put several different techniques to the test, including topwater retrieves, jigging, and live-baiting. These inshore North Carolina waters sport a range of environments that Speckled Trout can be found in, from shallow flats to underwater structure, and Captain Joe will give you unique tips and methods for each.

On the day of your trip, you'll launch aboard Captain Joe's 22' Pathfinder center console. This boat is ideal for cutting through chop, and has a shallow draft to give you access to all areas. She's powered by a 200 HP Yamaha engine, so you'll be hooking up on a personal best in a hurry! Captain Joe will come prepared with everything else you need, including rods, reels, bait, and tackle. All you need to be bring is proper clothing, sunscreen, a hat, some sunglasses, and any food and drinks you may want.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel up to 1 day before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, bait, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
