This was a last minute trip booked with Captain Jonathan. Our originally scheduled trip 2 days prior had been cancelled due to water conditions being rough. Weather was good this day, however water still a little rough.(1-2 Feet) We had a 1 1/2 hour drive to meet them at the dock and 15 minutes before we arrived Captain Jonathan called me wanting me to consider re-scheduling the trip. That was not an option for us.
To make a long story short, our planned 6 hour trip lasted just 3 from the time we stepped on his boat until we stepped back on the dock. We made 1 drop after a 45 minute ride. We boated 3 fish, 2 red snapper( 1 legal size) a small mackerel. Hooked up on a couple more we ended up loosing. We moved from there to the shoreline in the Pensacola pass to try redfish. After 20 minutes Captain Jonathan said "I can't stand anymore of this, let's call it a day". We headed back to dock.
We were very content with the fishing conditions, not perfect conditions, but we were fishing that's all we wanted to do. It was obvious Captain Jonathan wanted to be elsewhere. I've been on several charters in the past and on them all the Captain has done all they could to make the trip as good as possible.
Captain Jonathan and 1st mate Noah are very personable, friendly young men, however on this day we were very disappointed in how this trip was handled.
