Dedicated to providing you with an exciting and safe fishing experience in the waters of Jacksonville, Captain Joe will do everything in his power to put and keep you on the best bite in the area. Over the years he has spent time working the deck of offshore charters and commercial fishing for local snapper and grouper species. He has spent time working on private sport fishing boats and blue water trolling around Florida. All the while spending as much time as he can learning Jacksonville’s vast backwater fishing for Redfish, Flounder and Trout. His goal is to help your family and friends create memories that will last a lifetime!

Rapid Fire Guide Q & A

What’s the biggest fish you’ve caught?
Large wahoos! Yum!
If you were cooking for all your friends what would you cook?
Certainly some version of surf and turf! Could include anything from the classic steak and lobster (Florida lobster!) ribs and shrimp to sushi rolls and whatever else is in the fridge. While totally amateur I enjoy every aspect of cooking.

Whats your favorite band?
You can expect to listen to classic rock 60-90s country and reggae. Likely all within the same trip aboard the happy day 3! Like all genres of music. Some of my favorites include Zepplin, Aerosmith, the stones, sublime, Waylon, randy Travis, all sorts of lessor known reggae artists and a ton more.
Whats your favorite movie?
Christmas vacation.
Whats your favorite sports team?
Jaguars!
Whats your drink of choice?
It’s hard to beat an ice cold Coca Cola… On days off I’m a lover of cheap beer and on a Friday night a couple rum drinks
What was your last halloween costume?
A shark!
What do you want for Christmas this year?
A hippopotamus
How did you get started guiding?
My uncle was an owner operator based out of the North eastern US/key west. I naturally had a love for water and fish. But when I saw the lifestyle I fell in love with it. I knew from a young age it’s all I wanted to do.
What makes you different from other guides?
As much as possible I always recommend booking directly with an owner operator as this provides the most hands on experience and flexibility with the day of our outing. You can ensure you’ll also be fishing with a well motivated and knowledgeable individual. I consider myself a Jack of all trades. From blue water trolling to fishing redfish in a couple inches of water I enjoy it all. This takes my customers to some crazy unique locations depending on the time of year and target species. I do all of this while providing a relaxed, safe and family friendly environment. But that’s not to say if an all day hardcore trip is desired I can’t provide that as well. One of the frequent questions I get asked routinely is “what do you do on your days off?” I fish!
