On board his sleek 20' Willies flats boat you'll set out on the inshore waters around Sarasota in search of trophy Redfish, Snook, and Spotted Trout. The neashore component of this trip is slightly seasonal as Bonito and Tripletail are--for the most part--only targeted in the summer months. These fish are all great fighters, and have something for every type of angler. Tripletail and Redfish are known as top-notch table fare, while Snook and Bonito put up terrific fights on light tackle!

As you make your way through the mangroves and shallow flats, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the coast and a chance to spot a variety of marine life. With Captain Todd's expert guidance, you'll be casting your lines and reeling in these sought-after species in no time! Captain Todd's skiff is purpose-built for fishing in shallow water, so you'll be able to get back into the "skinny water" where trophy fish like to hang out.

If you were cooking for all your friends what would you cook?

Fish, depends on the catch of day. I have a recipe for every fish out there. I’m not too much on fried fish. So I bake or broil all my fish or smoke. But if I had a choice to impress my friends. I would cook a snook or a pompano. both are very delicious if cooked right. My families been doing it so long we have recipes for all of them.

I listen to wide variety of music. From old country to southern rock ‘n’ roll, 60s and 70s rock. My favorite group of all times is Lynyrd Skynyrd.

My favorite movie is Lonesome Dove, and open range.

Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Lightning and the New York Yankees.

How did you get started guiding?

My grandparents owned a bait camp when I was born. I started fishing and First mating at a very young age. My dad was a guide in Sarasota Florida for 50 years. So I guess you could say it is in my blood to become a guide.

What makes you different from other guides?

I have been told I am a good people person. I have many years and memories on our local water And plenty of stories to go along with it. I try for instant gratification from my clients and a memory they’ll never forget.

All rods, reels, and tackle are included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and any gear of your own you want to use on the trip.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

My plan was to have a nice day on the water with my wife who lives to fish.
Captain Todd did his best to make that happen.
He was ready and waiting when we arrived .
He took out out to open water but it was a little too rough so he made an adjustment and put us where we could fish . Throughout the trip we caught fish and I was hoping that my wife would catch the best fish of the day , and she did.
Captain Todd was a gentleman on the boat and provided everything we needed but as always it’s a fishing trip not a catching fish trip.
Overall it was a good day and I would recommend fishing with Captain Todd.
Thank you Captain Todd for all you did.
