After relocating to North Carolina, Elliott expanded his skills to new lakes, streams, saltwater fishing, and hunting the sandhills. In 2018, he made the move to Texas and has never looked back. Captivated by the Wild West, Elliott decided the best way to share his love for the outdoors was to guide others in experiencing it firsthand.

Everyone needs to experience this hunt as far as I'm concerned.

Elliott runs a great sandhill crane program top to bottom. He stays on the birds, can call em in like an absolute pro, and is totally focused on providing every group with a safe and successful hunt.

He's got top-of-the-line coffin blinds and decoys and is a great dude to hunt with. We smoked em with Elliott and can't wait to run it back!

Thanks Elliott, awesome...

The guide Elliot did not inform me there would be other hunters. I communicated with Elliot since February when I booked this hunt and thought it would be only me and my Dad. When we get there, there’s 4 other people and we’re told to get in the back of the truck and we ride around like cargo for miles very uncomfortable for a paid hunt. Then we are told to get into blinds that are made for people 5’9” or smaller. Me and my dad are taller and it was very uncomfortable. Then we had a chance to shoot cranes a couple times but Elliot didn’t give us the green light. So my dad and I traveled all the way from Laredo and did not even get to shoot once. Terrible experience. I can’t believe I paid for that. I see a link below to post photos. But the guide Elliot never even asked me or my dad if we wanted to take photos.

Hey Leslie this is Trey with Captain Experiences. Thank you for sharing your feedback.

Our crane hunts are run as shared trips, which is standard when hunting cranes, and this is explained on the trip listing in the description. For the ride out to the field, Elliott offered seats in the cab for a more comfortable trip. He had three trucks available with plenty of room, but he was told that you and your father
preferred sitting in the bed.

Regarding the blinds, our team hunted this same setup with Elliott last season, and our members at 6'2" were comfortable. The blinds aren’t limited to hunters under 5'9". Elliott placed you in the blind next to him and would have been happy to make adjustments or answer any questions about comfort.

Our guides make shooting calls based on safety and bird behavior, and we’re sorry you left feeling you didn’t get a fair chance. Cranes are different from hunting waterfowl and need to be more or less right on top of you to give you a chance at taking them down. As for photos, our guides always take them when requested!
