About Your Trip

Get ready to experience Florida’s wild side like never before with Captain Michael’s private eco tour—an unforgettable 3-hour narrated journey through the stunning waterways of Ponce Inlet.

With over 40 years of experience fishing and navigating these waters, Captain Michael knows every hidden cove, tidal creek, and sandbar in what’s known as the Shark Bite Capital of the World. While this trip focuses on sightseeing—not sportfishing—you’ll still be immersed in the rich natural beauty and
marine life that make this area so special.

Departing Tuesday and Thursday evenings, this private charter is perfect for families, couples, or small groups of up to 4 guests looking to explore, unwind, and connect with nature. You’ll cruise aboard a sleek 22’ Skeeter bay boat powered by a reliable Yamaha 200 HP 4-stroke engine—perfectly suited for gliding through the calm inshore waters and island-hopping in comfort.

Your voyage will take you around the iconic Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse and out to the world-famous Disappearing Island, a unique tidal sandbar that comes and goes with the flow. Whether you’re stopping to explore the shoreline or simply taking in the view, this spot is a highlight of any trip.

As you navigate the Intracoastal Waterway, Captain Michael will share stories about the area’s rich history and vibrant ecosystems. Expect to spot playful dolphins, graceful sea turtles, gliding pelicans, and—if the stars align—even a curious manatee or two.

This isn’t your average boat ride—it’s a laid-back, immersive experience designed for those who want to see the real Florida, guided by a true local legend. Bring your camera, your favorite snacks and drinks, and your sense of wonder—Captain Michael is ready to show you the magic of the coast, one island at a time.

Independent Guide
Licensed Master >100 Ton Captains License with over 40 years experience in Florida waters. We always catch fish and I'll gladly fillet them up and give to you in a plastic bag. My motto is "Can do". My goal is to " help you catch fish like the locals do".

Setting off from Ponce Inlet, I love sweeping the surrounding nearshore and inshore areas. Reel in delicious Snapper and Flounder from the bottom, jig for the area’s renowned Redfish, Bluefish,
and Whiting, or cast for some Seatrout or Black Drum. Capt. Michael prefers live shrimp, cut shrimp or mullet to any artificial lures. I will do everything he can to make your trip bountiful.

I run a 22’ Skeeter boat that is powered by a Yamaha 200 HP 4-stroke engine and is large enough to comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests. It is equipped with a poling platform, two baitwells, Power-Pole anchor, holders for trolling rods, two casting seats, a flat casting deck, and an assortment of navigational/fish finding electronics. Shimano spinning rods are the weapon of choice.

Fishing licenses are provided by the Captain for everyone onboard for your convenience, along with full insurance. As far as your catch goes, you get to keep whatever you reel in (as long as it falls within the fishing regulations) and bring it home for dinner, neatly filleted and wrapped. Tipping is extra.

Captain Michael was wonderful. Treated my boys great and taught them a lot. Very easy to get along with. The fish weren't cooperating very well, but it was very hot and in the afternoon. All in all a wonderful day on the water.
