About Your Trip

Kick off your day with the Early Bird Special—a refreshing 2-hour flats fishing trip through the crystal-clear waters of Florida’s Nature Coast with Captain Teddy! Whether you're an early riser or just looking to beat the heat, this short and sweet morning adventure is the perfect way to experience the beauty of Crystal River and its vibrant inshore fishery.

You’ll be casting lines from a 24’ Carolina Skiff, powered by a 140 HP Tohatsu engine—an
ideal setup for quietly maneuvering the shallow flats where Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Snook love to feed. With options to leave as early as 6:00 a.m., you’ll get a jump on the action when these fish are most active. Whether you're sight casting to tailing Reds or easing into the grass lines with live bait, Captain Teddy has the knowledge and gear to get you dialed in.

This trip is geared for anglers of all experience levels and includes all rods, reels, tackle, and even live bait. You’ll have access to a full range of techniques—from artificial lures and cut bait to light tackle setups—so just let Captain Teddy know your preference and he’ll tailor the trip to your style. He’ll also clean and fillet any legal catches you decide to keep, so you can head home with fresh fish ready for the grill.

Captain Teddy is a lifelong angler with a passion for these waters, and he's just as excited to guide a first-timer to their first Redfish as he is to put experienced anglers on a snook bite. Add in the chance to play your own music via Bluetooth and relax with your favorite beverage (just leave the glass at home), and you’ve got a laid-back local adventure that’s as fun as it is scenic.

Perfect for families, couples, or anyone looking to make the most of a Florida morning, this kid-friendly trip offers a memorable glimpse into the wild, shallow waters of Crystal River.

We had 2 adults and 4 kids (2x11 and 2x16) and had a great day with Captain Teddy. We caught huge redfish and several black drum. He took us to a spot where we could pull a bunch of little guys up as well. The kids all rated it an A+.
