About Your Trip

Join Hal for a relaxing yet highly productive drift fishing trip across the coastal flats, where quiet movement and steady casting combine to create one of the most effective ways to locate and catch inshore fish. This style of fishing is all about covering water naturally, allowing the boat to drift with wind and tide while anglers work likely holding areas with lures.

As you drift across the flats, you’ll focus on blind casting into
potholes, grass edges, sand pockets, and drop-offs where fish regularly stage and feed. This quiet approach is one of the best ways to “hunt” fish, giving you the ability to present lures without spooking fish in shallow, clear water.

The primary target on these trips is Speckled Trout, one of the most popular inshore species known for consistent action and excellent table quality. In addition to trout, you’ll also have opportunities to encounter Flounder lying in ambush along sandy bottom transitions and Redfish cruising the flats or holding near structure.

This trip is especially well-suited for small groups of two or three anglers, as well as families with children. The drifting style keeps things simple and easy to manage, while still providing plenty of chances for hookups throughout the day. It’s a great balance of hands-on fishing and a relaxed pace that allows everyone onboard to stay involved.

Hal focuses on reading conditions such as tide movement, wind direction, and water clarity to position the drift in the most productive areas. Each pass across the flats offers new opportunities, keeping the fishing dynamic and engaging from start to finish.

Whether you’re new to inshore fishing or simply looking for a calm, effective way to target multiple species, Hal’s drift trips offer a quiet, enjoyable, and consistently productive day on the water.

Not a bad trip. A little odd having to meet at his house and then ride with home to launch the boat other than that he knew what he was talking about

Had a blast with captain Hal. He did everything thing he could to get us on fish. We had a limit of fish. The best experience I’ve had on a guided trip. I highly recommend captain Hal with inshore fishing.

Hal was great! After getting the run around by two other guides, Hal stepped in to the rescue. We were a little worried because he was cheaper than most but that has nothing to do with his fishing abilities. He drove us to a more private boat ramp away from all the crowds and jet skis. We drifted in peace and quiet and probably caught between the 3 of us 50
