About Your Trip

If you’re looking for an adrenaline-filled day on the water, this 6 or 8-hour Shark and Tarpon trip offers a chance to hook into two of the most powerful species found in the Tampa Bay area. With plenty of time to move between spots and adapt to the conditions, these trips are designed to give you solid opportunities to target both species in the same outing.

You’ll explore a mix of nearshore waters, flats, backcountry
channels, and even deeper reef or wreck areas depending on where the bite is best. The flexibility of these trips allows Captain Garrett to check multiple zones, increasing your chances of connecting with a Tarpon or a hard-fighting Shark. Common species include Blacktip, Bull, Lemon, Nurse, and even the occasional Hammerhead Shark, depending on time of year and location.

Fishing is done using heavy tackle, often with live or cut bait set near structure or suspended in the current to draw in bigger predators. Whether you're soaking a bait near a channel edge or working the tide for rolling Tarpon, this is an exciting, high-energy experience best suited for anglers ready to battle powerful fish.

Your trip will be run from a 23’ Mako center console equipped with a 250 HP Yamaha, GPS, fishfinder, a wireless trolling motor, and a live bait well. The boat is fully outfitted for serious nearshore and backcountry fishing and provides a smooth, reliable ride with room for up to five anglers.

Captain Garrett provides all rods, reels, tackle, lures, and bait—live bait is typically caught before pickup to maximize your time on the water. Your fishing license is covered, and any catch you choose to keep (when allowed by regulations) will be cleaned and filleted back at the dock. Just bring your own snacks, any additional drinks, and sun protection.

Whether you’re chasing the acrobatic runs of a Tarpon or locking into the brute force of a Shark, this trip offers a focused, well-paced shot at two of Florida’s most iconic game fish. Captain Garrett will tailor the day to conditions and your preferences, offering a hands-on, exciting experience for anglers looking to target big fish in a dynamic fishery.

We had an amazing trip. This is my 5th ocean fishing trip and it’s tied with the best. Garrett worked to make sure we caught fish and you could tell he genuinely enjoyed his work (this makes a difference). I highly recommend booking with him.

Garret, did a wonderful job guiding us to the perfect fishing spots. One of the best fishing charters we have been on. We caught our limit on trout. We also caught yellow jack fish , Spanish mackerel, one lemon shark, grouper , and lady fish. Best experience.
