About Your Trip

Looking to explore the inshore waters of Redington Shores in a more intimate, hands-on setting? Skiff trips are the perfect choice for small groups and anglers who want a focused, no-frills day of fishing packed with action, fun, and Florida sunshine.

Hop aboard Capt. Gill’s 14’ McKee Craft—an agile and efficient skiff ideal for navigating shallow flats and narrow backwater channels. With room for up to 3 anglers, this setup offers a personal, dialed-in experience
that’s great for solo anglers, couples, or small parent-child groups. The boat is equipped with an ice box to keep your drinks and snacks cool throughout the day.

These trips range from 2 to 8 hours, so whether you want to squeeze in a quick morning session or spend the full day working the tides, Capt. Gill will tailor the outing to your schedule and skill level. With his deep knowledge of the Redington Shores area and years of local experience, Capt. Gill specializes in drift fishing and light tackle spinning—two of the most effective and exciting methods for targeting the area’s top species.

Depending on the season and daily conditions, you’ll be chasing after inshore favorites like Mangrove Snapper, Sheepshead, Spotted Seatrout, Redfish, and Snook. The action can vary from steady bites in the shallows to quick runs through productive grass flats, and Captain Gil knows how to put you on fish.

Rods, reels, tackle, and fishing licenses are all included in your trip, so you can focus on fishing without the hassle of extra prep. If you land a keeper, you’re welcome to bring it home—as long as it meets local regulations. Just ask the Captain and he’ll walk you through what’s in season and legal to keep.

This trip is also kid-friendly, so don’t hesitate to bring your young anglers along for the ride. It's a great opportunity to introduce kids to fishing in a safe and relaxed environment.

If you’re ready to trade the crowds for calm waters and a boatload of fun, book your skiff trip with Capt. Gill today. The fish are biting—let’s go catch ’em!

If you were cooking for all your friends what would you cook?
Anything on a fire.
What’s your favorite band?
I’ll listen to anything. I’ve been playing guitar since I was a kid. My dad’s played piano since he was young as well. I grew up with super fluid taste in music.
What’s your favorite movie?
Star Wars or Lord of the Rings.
What’s your favorite sports team?
The Lightning.
What’s your drink of choice?
Jameson Black Barrel or Michelob AmberBock.
What was your last halloween costume?
Fishing Captain.
What do you want for Christmas this year?
I grew up overseas for part of my life and I’ve been traveling again. Anything that helps with that or my fishing charters.
How did you get started guiding?
I started deck-handing on a charter boat when I was 13. After that I worked the docks down south a little bit and then joined the Coast Guard. Once I got out I started my own guiding business.
What makes you different from other guides?
I don’t just love catching fish I love getting to know my clients. I’ve learned a lot from the many conversations I’ve had on the boat. One of my main goals, is for families to have the opportunity to get on the water and see what fishing is like in this area. I chose the bigger boat I run and implement techniques I use to help make this possible. I want everyone to have the experience of fishing in this area.
