About Your Trip

Head out with Captain Jack Limroth to hook into some monster Red Drum and Cobia on the Chesapeake Bay. Captain Jack has grown up on these waters and no fish is safe (except the small ones!) after he cranks up his engine to head out.

Captain Jack specializes in sight fishing in the lower Chesapeake Bay and the nearshore waters of the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Virginia Beach. Though his primary targets are Cobia and Red Drum, there are a plethora of other species like spadefish, Spanish mackerel, and black drum that are also available when the conditions do not permit sight fishing. Aside from the breeder-sized Red Drum, all of the fish you'll be targeting make great table fare and will be cleaned and ready to prepare once back at the dock!

He knows all the best honey holes for getting into giant Bull Reds, the best spots to post up to catch a cruising Cobia, and the best methods for getting them on the end of your line and into the boat. On your trip, Captain Jack will share all his knowledge, tips, and tricks with you so you can catch one of these giants from start to finish by yourself.

You will meet up with Capt. Jack at the Porch on Long Creek where his boat will be fully loaded with all the rods, reels, tackle, bait, and fishing licenses you could possibly need for an epic day out on the water! This way all you need to bring is your sun protection, Capt. Jack will take care of the rest.

Been fishing with Jack since we were little. I’ve lost count the number of cobias and giant red drum we’ve caught together. This guy knows his stuff. He’s extremely hard working and won’t stop till a fish hits the deck! From cobias to 60+ pounds to giant bull reds this guy has you covered! Give him a shout and get on the books! I GUARANTEE you won’t regret it!

I’ve been fishing with Jack for about 3 years now and can honestly say he has more knowledge about the bay than anyone I know. He was raised on the bay and has the magic touch when it comes to finding Cobia and big Drum. Book a trip and I promise you will not be dissapointed.

When it comes to putting us on the fish, there is no one I trust more than Jack. He will do just about anything to make sure you not only have a great time, but also catch the fish of a lifetime. From Crystal lake to Cape Charles, King Tide Charters should be the first call you make!

My wife and I have fished with Jack twice now, and let me tell you, no one is going to work harder to put you on some big fish (and have fun doing it at the same time). On our last trip, the day before we arrived it was a struggle. The cobia were visible but not eating. The morning we showed up, Jack threw the kitchen sink at them until he found what worked and then we were in business...BIG TIME. I’d jump at the chance to fish with this guy anytime!
