trip description for Inshore Trip - 23 parker custom in Englewood

Fishing in the inshore waters around Englewood with Captain Tim means you'll be exploring the inlets, back bays, and beach front surf around Manasota Key, Don Pedro Key, all the way down to Caya Costa occasionally as well. These productive waters are home to big Snook, Redfish, Trout, Sheepshead and all kinds of Snapper. Tarpon also inhabit these waters during the late spring and summer months. And when they're in town we highly recommend giving Tarpon fishing a shot! There is nothing quite as fun as stalking fish along mangrove islands, stalking across shallow water bays, pitching live-baits into structure, or drifting baits through passes. Captain Tim mostly uses live bait and spinning reels. With proven success, he finds this is the most effective way to put fish into the boat! Since everything is provided aboard Captain Tim's Charters from Rods and Reels to Ice and Water, all you need to bring are your favorite snacks and drinks, your sunglasses, and your camera and you'll be all set! I licensed for 6 passengers but only 4 lines at a time. So price is for 4 angler additional $20 per head on passenger five and six. thank you Read More

You'll be fishing in around 70 feet of water, which is perfect of catching up a wide variety of Snappers, Grouper, Porgies, Grunts, Jacks, and more! The action can be fast and furious, with bites often coming within seconds of dropping down a bait. Captain Dan targets "keeper" sized fish on these trips, so that you can go home with a delicious dinner! However, these fish are generally not trophy size. trip description for Fort Myers Inshore Fishing Trip in Fort Myers Beach

On this fishing trip with Captain Rob, you'll fish the inshore waters of Estero Bay, Matanzas Pass, and Southern Pine Island Sound, looking for a variety of species including Mangrove Snapper, Sheepshead, Seatrout, Spanish Mackerel, Pompano, and Gag Grouper (when in season). While Captain Rob can accommodate 6 guests having 6 rods going at the same time, making casts to surrounding fish becomes incredibly cumbersome. So, Rob likes to fish 4 people at a time while two look on and lounge about the boat. And trade off throughout the trip. There's no shortage of action either so don't let that dissuade you! There's a little bit of everything on this trip; you'll get the enjoy the beautiful scenery, catch fun fighting fish, and take home an excellent dinner! You'll mix it up on this trip, using a combination of trolling and light-tackle fishing, changing your baits and lures depending on the weather, season, and target species. Captain Rob will take you out on his 25' SeaQuest center console, powered by a 300HP Suzuki engine. This boat is perfect for navigating the costal waters you'll be fishing. You will need to bring your sun protection, a hat, and some sunglasses and you'll be ready to hit the water. Be sure to pack an ice chest so that you can take home the tasty fish you'll catch! Boca Grande, Florida Fishing Overview

Boca Grande, known as the "Tarpon Capital of the World," is a prime destination for fishing enthusiasts. With access to the Gulf of Mexico, mangrove forests, and backcountry, this fishery offers a diverse range of species and environments. The main attraction is Tarpon fishing in the Boca Grande Pass, but the area also offers Snook, Redfish, Trout, Pompano, Red Snapper, Grouper, King Mackerel, Cobia, Goliath Grouper, and Sharks. Fishing charters are readily available, offering trips ranging from four to over ten hours. Regulations on catching and releasing Tarpon are strict, so it's important to book a trip with a reputable captain who can update you on all bag and size limits. Fishing licenses are included in charter trips.

Boca Grande Tarpon Fishing

Boca Grande, FL is known as “The Tarpon Capital of the World”, and it certainly lives up to its name as it is one the most renowned Tarpon fishing destinations in the world!

You may ask, “What makes tarpon fishing so good?” Well, annually tens of thousands of hungry tarpon migrate to Boca Grande pass and its surrounding areas for their annual spawn. They usually show up in early April, hungry after a long journey up from warmer equatorial waters. Like a road warrior who has been driving all night, these tarpon stop off in Boca Grande as if it were a Mcdonald's, a Walmart, and a 4 Seasons Hotel combined!

Now this incredible migration happens all over the Gulf of Mexico and along the Atlantic coast as well, but in most areas, the Tarpon are on the move. Boca Grande is different mainly due to Boca Grande Pass. This small inlet between Gasparilla Island and Cayo Costa is the deepest natural inlet on the Gulf of Mexico, reaching depths of approximately 80 feet. Tens of thousands of tarpon congregate in the area from April through August, feeding day and night, as they prepare to head back offshore for their annual spawning ritual. There are very few other places in the world where this many Tarpon congregate in one place and are actually happily eating!

After weeks of feeding, they begin to gather into large breed schools to socialize as they prepare for this spawning ritual. They gather in huge schools that are sometimes 500 fish or more, giving anglers ample opportunities. After the spawn is over in early July most of the fish stay in the area to feed on the abundance of food the surrounding water has to offer. Great Tarpon fishing action will continue thru October offering anglers a chance at battling the “Silver King” for over 6 months out of the year!

Some anglers have taken on the challenge of fly fishing for the silver king and with a fish this powerful, it's about as much fun as you can have on a flyrod. There are still no guarantees with traditional tackle because tarpon are easily capable of snapping line at any moment if the drag is not set just right. Lure choice is more important than anything else and you better have a variety because you never know what they will be biting.

Boca Grande Inshore Fishing

The inshore fishing in Boca Grande is a dream come true for any angler. Snook, redfish, and trout call this area home and make for an exciting day out on the water. Snook is a bucket list fish on its own and fish over 40lbs are not unheard of. The redfish and trout fishing in the flats and marshes is world-class with giants being caught here every year. There is no shortage of prime fishing either with the cult following commanded by trout and redfish, exhilarating bites are just one cast away.

Boca Grande Nearshore Reef Fishing

If you want to leave the shoreline behind and target open water fish then the nearby reefs will have all the species you are looking for. Dropping bait lines or jigs around structure will give you the best opportunity to catch many different snapper and group species. If a more active fishing style is preferred then trolling and casting for cobia, kingfish, mackerel, tripletail, and mahi-mahi is the trip for you. All of these species grow large and fight hard but better yet, each of them have a different peak bite making Boca Grande the perfect place to take a trip any time of year.

If I could give six stars I would. I probably couldn’t have asked for a better first time experience saltwater fishing. James is clearly passionate about the waters and his knowledge was shown with every question we had answered. James was beyond patient, professional, and cares about his clients’ time. James knew where the action was and put us on some fish. I had an excellent time catching multiple species. Overall, my buddy and I felt welcomed and enjoyed hanging out with James and his mate Joe. Solid dudes. Would recommend booking and I will book again when I’m back in the area. Future charters have some big shoes to fill!
