Fall is coming. The brown shrimp have come back in from their spawn.
Mullet are starting to gather in the creek mouths.
That being said, there are some large traps moving in very shallow top waters, like skid or walks or chug bugs. If it's grassy, work the chug bug like it's a walk, the dog.
Cut mullet cut in live. Pinfish are also getting the red fish.

The bottom fishing bite is some of the best. It's been all year.
We're getting red grouper, red snapper, and gag grouper, and even some very large mangrove snappers.
If you can find sardines, live cigar minnows, and live threadfin. Those are going to give you better-quality fish.
For gay groupers, it's hard to beat whole, one-pound-plus grunts, whole mulletheads, and large butterflied blue runners.
We're using eighty pound liter and eight or nine odd hooks, with the least amount of lead to get to the bottom.
Usually knocker rigs or Captain Chappy's hogballs. I put my own hooks on...

The bottom fishing bite is very good. Most trips, we're getting are limit of red groupers, a handful of red snapper. and plentiful Gag grouper action. On days where the current is slow, live bates work well.

The red grouper bite is off the chain. You can get some anywhere from forty feet out to as deep as you want to go. The red snapper have been hidden. Most of the bigger keepers are in deep water one hundred to one hundred and forty feet deep. Down bigger baits equal bigger fish. The usual cut beats whether ladyfish or mullet, or bunker whichever you'd like to call them. Are working great!

Find some shallower numbers in forty 52 fifty foot of water and start there.You'll get a few red grouper.Some big gags, you have to throw back and a few keeper red snapper.
So if you move out to 80 to a 100 foot, there are a few more reds grouper and snapper sardines cigar, minos. Thread, herring are all good baits.The fresher or liver, they are, the better they are.
With this full moon, the tide's running hard, so you'll need a few more ounces of lead...
