The Tuna Fishing was slow the past two weeks...
However the fishing for Mahi- Mahi more than made up for it... On our last trip we boated 18 Mahi's releasing several small rats. The Tuna fishing should pick up after these Hurricanes pass us buy. These storms churn up the ocean, and the Tuna go off their normal feeding cycle. Once everything settles down the Tuna will go back on the Feed !

The Inshore and Offshore Water Temperature is Warming UP... Big time !
That's right... Everyone knows we had a Mild Winter this year. The Offshore and Inshore Water Temperature is Warming Up at a fast rate, and that is what We WANT !!!!
All the Inshore and Offshore Species will be at least Two to Three Weeks Early this year compared to last year.
I am giving a Heads Up to Book Early... That's because things will be accelerated this year with the warm water moving in sooner than expected.

The Inshore fishing for Fluke, and Sea Bass should be
hitting good in early May. The Offshore fishing for Tuna should also be firing on all cylinders by the end of May, or the beginning of June at the latest.
Last year we had some great Fluke and Sea Bass fishing including some incredible Tuna, Marlin, and the best Wahoo fishing ever.

We had another beautiful and fun day today for The Monge 7 Boys! There was lots of tog and sea bass- the tog size was off, with tons of shorts everywhere we went. Even though the keepers were playing hard to get, we were able to put a nice catch together of both keeper tog and sea bass.

The inshore as well as the offshore fishing has picked up dramatically in the last two and three weeks...
The fluke, Seabass, and bluefish have been hitting well in the usual locations in the bay and just on the reef outside.
The offshore has also taken a dramatic uptick. Last week we had a 77 pound wahoo along with bluefin tuna. The canyons have opened up with yellow fin, blue marlin, and white Marlin... Not to mention great mahi mahi fishingThe inshore as well as the offshore fishing has picked up dramatically in the last two and three weeks...

Everything fishing wise is starting to come together in a big way. The inshore fishing has steadily improved with Fluke up to 7 pounds Seabass up to 4 pounds.
Offshore fishing has started to explode... Yellow fin blue fin bigeye are all there for the taking yesterday we had a 77 pound wahoo. It looks like going into September is going to be out-of-Control.

I recently had the good fortune to spend an afternoon with Captain Ken deep-sea fishing off Montauk. Being a novice “deep sea” fisherman I really didn’t know what to expect. But the afternoon was far better than I could have imagined. We spent more than 4 hours in glorious weather with Captain Ken showing us the ropes. We probably caught more than 20 bluefish. But what made it so special was Captain Ken’s easygoing personality, positive attitude, patience and willingness to make it a memorable day, which it was. I can’t say enough good things about the experience and would recommend spending a morning or afternoon with Captain Ken and his very talented colleague. You will not regret it. The photo below provides a sense of the great day we had.

    Trip: Epic Half Day Montauk

Great trip with Capt. Dennis and his first mate Bill. WE went with 4 kids all 10 years old. He was very accomodating with the type of fishing we did. The boat was clean and ready, gear was good, and location was great. Weather wasn't the best, but that's no ones fault. Getting to the boat was easy, parking was a breeze. We caught a bunch of fish, all different species. A few keepers. Would definitely recommend Capt. Dennis and his crew! We will be booking a full ocean tuna trip without the kids soon with Dennis. No worries or concerns booking this trip!

Rick was great! We had a blast out on the water. He knew where to go and what to throw. We all learned some tips and tricks too. I would highly recommend this charter, we’re hoping to go again this summer at some point.
