A few Atlantic bonita still linger around at Wrightsville beach Spanish macro fishing is as strong as new rope. Plenty for everyone but, fish are mostly on the smaller side. The first few flounder of the year have been getting caught mostly on plastics while trout fishing. Speckle trout fishing is pretty good right now with a chance of catching a very big female. Keeping them is discouraged, but for the person that loves a chance at a big one, spend your time early on top water in the next several weeks. Red drum are starting to bite better up...

Red drum are starting to bite better up and down the inter coastal waterway and near shore creeks, with the coming of the the mullet run that usually kicks off in late May or June. You can expect it to get really good once the bait come down the waterway. There will be great catch and release fishing for flounder and people who do not care to take fish home. King macro fishing should pick up in the next several weeks along near shore beaches and with the hopes of big menhaden schools on the beach. There could be good cobia opportunity.
Good fishing continues at Wrightsville beach, plenty of Grey trout! Spanish mackerel are on the feed with big citation size in the mix, Atlantic Bonita have mad an appearance this week and things are right on schedule for great spring fishing!

Things are warming up here at Wrightsville beach and wilmingtonmaria. Some spring bluefish have arrived but still catching a mixed bag of speckle drought and flounder. Anglers can expect the arrival of the Atlantic Bonita to come storming on to our beach fronts. Allowing anglers a nice spring kickoff to have their string pulled and their drag Squealed. The spanish mackerel should be right behind them. All insurance fishing should improve greatly in the next couple weeks with rising water temperatures.

Great fishing for flounder, Red drum, Spanish mackerel, false albies (fly fish opportunities) and more..this is the beginning of great fall fishing. A wind of change is blowing in and all are excited for great fall fishing. Flounder fishing is great and anglers are able to keep some now through the end of September. Trout fishing here should be as good as it gets towards October and November.
