Trails End Fishing Reports (July 2026)

Great fishing for flounder, Red drum, Spanish mackerel, false albies (fly fish opportunities) and more..this is the beginning of great fall fishing. A wind of change is blowing in and all are excited for great fall fishing. Flounder fishing is great and anglers are able to keep some now through the end of September.

Tarpon fishing is still going but seeing the end in sight of our bite. Has been great!

Great fishing continues around Wrightsville beach with many different opportunities, from Spanish mackeral to great flounder fishing, red drum a few speckled trout and Tarpon are in the area. Expect great fishing for old drum citation size and fantastic Spanish mackerel and false albacore casting opportunities aswell. Tarpon can be caught but it’s a very specialized trip. Good fishing continues at Wrightsville Beach anglers are enjoying catching flounder while having to release right now the open season starts September 1st and anglers will be able to keep flounder for the month speckled trout are still biting early in the morning on topwater plugs for anglers that are able to do so and there are large big red starting to show and that should just improve as summer goes on some fish caught in the 40 in class .
