Fishing this week has been good. Lots of bigger fish are finally making appearance!!! When it comes to big fish you just never know if they want a midge or a nice tied streamer!!!

Fishing has slowed down this week after all the fishing that was done over the holidays. It should pick back up next week for sure! It's streamer time so don't be afraid to throw some while you're here. If not think small like size 22 and 24 midges , small...

It's streamer time so don't be afraid to throw some while you're here. If not think small like size 22 and 24 midges , small hairs ear in size 18 and small black stones size 14.

Winter time think small. Size 22 zebra midge was the ticket this day. Fish are plentiful but you have got to use small flies this time of year. San Juan worm has been working with a midge on the back of it. Come fish with me!!!

Fishing has been very good. The rain cooled off the river to a nice 52 degrees. Perfect for trout fishing. This time of year there isn't much in the way of hatches however, midges are always present. Use a Manhattan midge in black of a miracle midge for the best...

Fishing has been very good. The rain cooled off the river to a nice 52 degrees. Perfect for trout fishing. This time of year there isn't much in the way of hatches however, midges are always present. Use a Manhattan midge in black of a miracle midge for the best action. Small nymphs such as 20 hair ear or pheasant tail. All of these flies have been working well.

So far October has been great!!! Water is starting to cool off greatly. The weather has been chilly in the early morning and afternoon has been in the 80's. It will not be long before the absolute perfect time to fish this river!!! Clouds are starting to move in thank God! That means blue wing olives should start again soon. Caddis are still coming off for all you dry fly guys. Nothing like a take on the surface! Midges are still king this time of year nymphs are small, real small like 24's. Softhackle flies are still working size 16 and smaller, along with the Caddis pupa fly. Tight lines my friends!!!
