Guadalupe River Fishing Reports (July 2026)

Lake Bastrop-12/4- water temp 67, lots of bass shallow right now, can catch these fish with spinnerbaits and flukes, worms also working well on outside edge of the grass, you can rig these on a drop shot or neko rig to stay weedless

Kicking out big numbers of bass averaging 50-80 bass per trip. Finding big ones has been a little more difficult, but we are getting a ton of bites! We are focusing on deeper grass edges in 15-20 ft of water drop shotting Bass Pro Shops Tri-Color Worms and Texas rigging 5" stick worms.

We are doing well targeting deeper grass edges with drop shot rigged finesse worms and a Texas-rigged Ribbontail worm.

Stillhouse Hollow Lake: Fishing is getting better as the weather continues to cool. We are doing well with weightless trick worms fished shallow around points.

We are doing well targeting huge schools of bass in and around the numerous marinas on the lake. Best baits are small weightless soft plastic jerkbaits and drop shot rigged finesse worms.

Stillhouse Hollow continues to kick out good numbers and some giant bass! If it’s numbers you’re after, chasing the nomadic schools of bass offshore are the way to go. Use forward facing sonar to locate these schools and then cast small weightless soft plastic jerkbaits at them fished quickly across the surface. For big bass, fish the shallows with topwater lures like the River2Sea Rover!

Stillhouse Hollow: We are averaging 30 bass on slower trips and over 60 on the good ones! Targeting bass over shallow vegetation with various topwater lures and swimbaits will do well for larger bass during the early morning and late evening hours. For numbers, we are targeting huge schools of nomadic offshore bass that are roaming open water in search of baitfish. We are locating these schools with forward facing sonar and then catching them with weightless soft plastic jerkbaits fished quickly across the surface. These schools are suspended over water that is anywhere from 25 to over 100 ft

Tide is high! The surf is up! And the clock always says beer:30!

Stillhouse Hollow: We are doing great on numbers of bass with the occasional big one. Our primary strategy has been to target nomadic schools of bass offshore in open water. Once we find them, we are catching them on a small, weightless soft plastic jerkbait. We are also finding success by using drop shot rigged finesse worms in submerged vegetation in 8-20 ft of water.

Fishing has been really good! Catching schooling fish in the morning on top waters and swim baits. As the sun gets higher im moving to the outside grass line with drop shots and shakey heads. Been producing very good numbers and decent quality!
