Two crews today and two limits of redfish! An absolutely epic day of fishing that will be hard to beat for a long time!

On top of our 3 man limit, we caught several drum, flounder (one keeper), and sheepshead (3 keepers) along with a whole mess of reds that we put back for my afternoon crew! The boys had never fished saltwater before and their first casts ended up in a double up of 19” redfish! I always enjoy fishing with Mr. Georgie and family!
Second trip, Chris, his wife, and granddaughter joined me for a very short 2 hour trip. We went to one spot and within no time, we had our limit of reds and were on our way back to the dock! It was their first time fishing in saltwater and within two casts, they had it figured out and were catching fish like they were pros! Quality folks from Tennessee going home with a great bag of fish!
All of this rain has pushed the redfish out of the rivers and into the bays and is has them chewing. It’s been a whole lot of fun finding them. If you want to get in on the action, now's the time!
Today's trip was a joint trip with Salty Bridges Charters out of Biloxi, MS. Conditions were perfect for heading south to fish out around our barrier islands. The day started with a quick trout bite followed by a steady sheepshead bite. We ended the day searching for Cobia where we landed one solid keeper to end the day. Clear skies and a rising tide all day made for solid fishing and even better memories made!

2022 Eddie called wanting to catch a cobia what's the best time?! I told him mid April but it's a hard fish to try for we usually chum for them and it can be slow.. But we can usually catch some shark bull reds jacks or something to pass time.. Sounds like fun so he booked a mid April day and we was gone give it a try!! Well about 3 hrs in on a 6hr. Trip we hadn't had much activity., Couple runs but we didn't connect so wasn't sure what the runs were.. Bout that time I happened...

Trip we hadn't had much activity., Couple runs but we didn't connect so wasn't sure what the runs were.. Bout that time I happened to spot the fish come up the chum slick on bottom so I knew the pole closes to him was a live cat fish so I told him to grab it and pull it in a lil and when he did the cobia attacked it.. luckily I seen it and was able to unlock the spool quick enough to let the fish swallow the bait for a 6 Mississippi count then locked it and he set the hook and the fish bolted to the top trying to sling the hook.. He did good for his first saltwater fishing experience.. after a few trips around the boat we were able to gaff the fish and in the boat!! His adrenaline was a little high and w/ high blood pressure actually got a lil green so we called it a day.. The next year he booked the same day and actually caught a fish that was identical same time weight and all.. almost a carbon copy of the year before.. we did try last year but was unsuccessful!!
