With water temps dropping sub 65* action in the main river has slowed to primarily trout with sheepshead available on nice days which are far and few between.
Water temps dropping doesn't mean slow fishing all the time though, in fact it's at its best in Jacksonville when it's cold. The best option for cold weather is 2 person flats boat trips. While the redfish limit has dropped to 1 per person in the last couple months it's reared it's head with an incredible bite from schools feeling way less pressure.

Offshore when fishable is absolutely on fire. Lots of
nice catches bottom fishing and great Tuna and wahoo trolling on the 10/12 hour trips. Right now until spring is a great time for the 4/6 hour trips to seabass fish with the great possibility to get lucky on a 4 hour trip gag grouper as they push in shallow with cool weather.
Bonus pic of a super rare catch for us a small Warsaw grouper while Seabass fishing. Let's get out and fish!

Sheepshead bite has remained world class the last couple weeks. Limits in less than a few hours on this weeks trip.
Overall I expect the bite to stay good through November until water temps drop below 65ish.
With some nasty wind coming next week it looks like downtime for the fleet but after the blow expect shallow water redfish to start their winter time chew.
Offshore expect cobia to fire up on the wrecks as the water temps get into the happy low 70s.
All day 10/12 hour trips should yeild plenty of Triggerfish, vermillion snapper, mutton snapper, mangrove snapper...

The bull reds are still here and lots of sheepshead are being caught. When you can get offshore, bottom fishing is still good- lots of red snapper, triggerfish, jacks and some black seabass showing up. I made one trip offshore catching mostly red snapper, lots of seabass (mostly shorts) and a few ring tail porgie. They had a great time bending the rods!

Fall fishing is in full swing here. Cooler temp have the fish fired up here on the crystal coast!!! I've been target false albacore a lot this month but started to switch over to speckled trout which is starting to pick up!

September and October were fabulous months out there. We had a very hot tarpon bite on the St. Johns River. We also had fair action on spotted seatrout, sandtrout and mangrove snapper. We caught a hand full of redfish and black bass in the brackish waters and we caught a couple of Bull Reds as well. Hurricane Ian wasn't severe in Jacksonville but we got a significant amount of rain which muddied the St. Johns River and slowed things down. The water should be cleared up any day now. As temperatures drop, I am expecting the snook to turn on...

Hurricane Ian wasn't severe in Jacksonville but we got a significant amount of rain which muddied the St. Johns River and slowed things down. The water should be cleared up any day now. As temperatures drop, I am expecting the snook to turn on in some of the river tributaries and redfish and spotted seatrout action should take off in the ICW. Sometimes the juvenile tarpon fishing can be good as well the water first cools.

Inshore fishing has been good with flounder, sheepshead and a good bull redfish bite. Ian has offshore waters stirred up but the bite for bottom fishing has been good for snapper, beeliners, triggerfish and some seabass. As the water cleans up some striking
fish should show up like king mackerel, barracuda, and jacks. Here are pictures of most recent fish.
