Monday the 2nd- excellent day out on a beautiful ocean out of Tillamook/Garibaldi. Limits of rock fish and some nice lingcod. Ended up with a bonus octopus. Caught a nice cabezon that we can't keep until July 1st. Excellent rock fishing/Lingcod through the middle of June and then I will...

Lingcod and rockfish have been excellent off the Oregon coast out of Garibaldi, Oregon. We have been getting limits of Lingcod and rockfish. The ocean has been beautiful out for January. Swimbaits, shrimp flys and herring have been our ticket to catching these fish.

Here are some photos and report from yesterday. Crabbing continues to be excellent out of Hammond,Oregon. Easy limits of Dungeness crab. We are getting some jumbo crab. Crabbing continues to be excellent out of Hammond,Oregon. Easy limits of Dungeness crab. We are getting some jumbo crab. It doesn't get any better than this. Hammond is located 8 miles west of Astoria,Oregon.

This is a Columbia river white sturgeon this was her very first real fish and she about had a heart attack she actually from the picture and measurements she got a replica made from the taxidermy

Trip: Oregon Crabbing Trip

Our crabbing trip exceeded my expectations. Craig's boat had comfortable seats. He offered us high quality lightweight life jackets (the blow-up kind). He told us the ocean was relatively calm and asked if we wanted to leave the bay and go out there. We did. He instructed us how to drop the crab pots, then entertained us (and our 4-year-old granddaughter) while we waited before checking the pots. We saw sea lions on a buoy; saw hundreds of jellyfish; learned about air bladders on fish like canary rockfish. our granddaughter got to view the radar screen showing where fish were. A first for any of our family: We caught our limit of crab, which Craig worked with my two sons to clean and cook for us. I felt completely safe with Craig. He is very knowledgeable and responsible; answered all my questions ahead of time. A wonderful, memorable day, well worth setting out before dawn.

Super knowledgeable and willing to educate us about everything we encountered during our charter with him. He knew exactly how and where to target salmon and we limited out! We had an awesome crabbing trip with Captain Wade. We limited out on crab catching 60 LARGE crab in Tillamook Bay. Captain Wade was knowledgeable, friendly, and found us the best crab in the Tillamook bay. He also took us to a place where they cook the crab and then he helped us clean them. Highly recommend Captain Wade. You'll have a great trip!
