The fishing has been phenomenal lately, getting into our spring trends with higher tides and strong bite inshore. Snook, redfish, trout and tarpon have been the big targets along with Spanish Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, mangrove snapper and others. White bait is prevalent throughout the sound and that's what these predatory fish love to eat. Plenty of fun fights everyday fishing bar lines, grass flats and mangrove islands.

Sheepshead season is in full swing and despite the colder days and extra layers for a comfortable day on the water, we are loading the boat with delicious fish. Sheepshead crowd into our area this time of year for the spawn and they are hungry and need to fill up to get through the hard days of spawn. Alongside the sheepshead, we are catching many other species such as redfish, black drum and mangrove snapper. All very fun and very tasty species. Cold weather brings out the tasty sheepshead! Fishing them under docks, and deep mangroves holes. Nearshore has been producing them as well in structures.

Sheepshead bite has been really good and will only get better as these cold fronts move in. Targeting them near structure, pilings, rock pilings along the beaches. Using small prices of shrimp on a 1/0 circle hook and a pinch weight.

Kicking off 2026 with some amazing weather. The couple cold fronts we've had didn't keep us bundled up for long and definitely has not kept us from catching fish. Our cold month species, Sheepshead are moving in while at the same time snook, trout and redfish are holding strong as if it was already spring. We are still netting white bait and the snook are loving it! The fishing is great here in Pine Island Florida and we are making awesome memories on the water.

Fishing has been great from the inshore to the offshore. The calm winds and bite right he before the cold front has been on fire.

Bite has been solid the past week inshore for redfish, snook and trout and nearshore has been good up to 9 miles offshore for grouper grunts snapper and sheepshead last week when the wind has allowed us to get out there. Everything on shrimp because everything loves shrimp.

The redfish bite in the back bays of Southwest Florida is starting to pick up and will only get better through the end of October. Plenty of breeder snook can be found in the passes and along the beaches. Bait has been plentiful on the grass flats which is a good place to work artificial lures for trout. Tarpon can still be found but time is running out on the 2022 season.
