The bite in August is really sporadic. My best trip recently was trolling crankbaits mid day and we put 43 fish in the boat in 4 hours from 11:30-3:30. The best bite on live bait has been in the evening right before dark with some large schools of big fish showing up and having more than one fish on at a time hasn't been uncommon.

Live shad have been really effective on early morning trips with some really big fish being caught. Trolling crankbaits has been working all day long and the white bass have been on fire and there's been a great topwater bite early morning for them.

    Our Guide was Bob Angelo on our Percy Priest trip. I new because of the excessive heat we have had that. The bite would be tough and Bob mentioned that when we talked. I told him I new the hot days would make the bite tough but that myself and our 10 yr old grandson's other Grandpaw just wanted our fella to experience landing some fish and to target the most likley to bite! Bob Angelo set us up for trolling and in our 4 hr trip our grandson landed 6 nice white bass and missed 2 or 3 more. It was all about introducing our grandson to the outdoors and fishing and Bob Angelo made sure that happened with the full trip focused on our grandson! Thanks Captain Bob! Also was Xaviers 1st time on a boat!

    We booked a half-day fly fishing trip for my husband’s birthday with Brian, and it exceeded all of our expectations! As complete beginners, we weren’t sure what to expect, but our guide was incredibly patient and took the time to teach us everything—from the basics of casting to how to properly hook and land a fish. He knew exactly where to find the trout, and thanks to his expertise, we caught around 10 trout throughout the trip, including an incredible 21-inch trout that was the catch of the day! We even brought several home to cook for dinner. Beyond being knowledgeable, he was friendly, responsive, and made the entire experience fun and stress-free. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, making the day even more memorable. Whether you’re an experienced fly fisherman or have never picked up a fly rod before, I can’t recommend this trip enough. We’ll definitely be back!

    Brian was great! We had some scheduling challenges and he was totally flexible and worked with us. As novices, he was patient and great with the basics. He also checked in with us regularly throughout the day to make certain that day trip was as we wanted - pacing, place on the river, reacting to some changes in the weather, etc. I highly recommend Brian as a guide.
