I began my fishing career on the waters of Northern Indiana, targeting Bass, Catfish, and Pike. After relocating to Tennessee in 2011, I continued to expand my target species and have become an accomplished multi-species angler, I am recognized by the state of Tennessee as a master angler. Passionate about helping others enjoy the sport, I eagerly share knowledge with everyone who steps aboard my boat. In addition to being a fishing guide I am also a licensed paramedic and avid hunter, I own BuckMaxx Outdoors, where I design and manufacture high-quality hunting and fishing products like my famous gar fishing lures. I work hard to put you on fish no matter the conditions, and I won't give up until your trip is over.

How did you get started guiding?

I was approached by a guide service to start guiding for them after continually catching large quantities and trophy sized fish.

What makes you different from other guides?

I feel like I am the most laid back and accommodating guide on the lake.

Our Guide was Bob Angelo on our Percy Priest trip. I new because of the excessive heat we have had that. The bite would be tough and Bob mentioned that when we talked. I told him I new the hot days would make the bite tough but that myself and our 10 yr old grandson's other Grandpaw just wanted our fella to experience landing some fish and to target the most likley to bite! Bob Angelo set us up for trolling and in our 4 hr trip our grandson landed 6 nice white bass and missed 2 or 3 more.
It was all about introducing our grandson to the outdoors and fishing and Bob Angelo made sure that happened with the full trip focused on our grandson!

Also was Xaviers 1st time on a boat!

Early October 2026

With cooler temperatures upon us the fish are moving into their fall and winter areas and we having success both trolling and on live bait. The jigging bite is picking up on white bass and yellow bass and we expect the hybrid and striper to get on a spoon jigging bite very soon.

Mid August 2026

The bite in August is really sporadic. My best trip recently was trolling crankbaits mid day and we put 43 fish in the boat in 4 hours from 11:30-3:30. The best bite on live bait has been in the evening right before dark with some large schools of big fish showing up and having more than one fish on at a time hasn't been uncommon.
