`Hi Hannah, Our October has been great so far. Redfish and flounder have been great using artificial lures and live shrimp along the grass lines, marsh drains and reefs.

Bull Reds are great right now! Last Sunday we ran a Bay/Inshore trips and had a fish almost every cast. Lots of nice fish around right now.

Redfish have been most productive on a falling tide. We're finding them coming out of the back marsh. When we're able to get out to the surf it has be lights out. Been using a mix of artificial and live bait.

Great week. September fishing is notorious for being challenging. During the peak of summer the water temperature is at its hottest, lately I have been seeing water temps around 84. Boat traffic is at an all time high, especially on weekends which can also be detrimental to the bite. Hot water & boat traffic are not appealing to trout, they would prefer cooler temps. Due to this then move out deep seeking cooler water. While this may all sound like doom and gloom, fear not!
Redfish, Black Drum, Sheephead, Flounder, & Catfish...
They still have to eat!

Captain Reyes did an outstanding job. My son and I had planned to meet him in Matagorda and fish East Matagorda Bay. A few days before the trip, he texted suggesting that we meet him in Palacios and fish West Matagorda Bay because he’d had several days of good catches there. We agreed and had a great day on the water. We caught our limit of speckled trout and had a good haul of black drum. He was very attentive and hardworking. I highly recommend him.
