LAKE BELTON - Surface temperature 86.6F. Elevation 1.5 feet low and falling. White bass fishing is consistent during the first and last hour of light. If fish appear on the surface, use Cork Rigs with Sandy Sandwich Streamers imitating young-of-the-year shad. When fish do not appear on the surface, work MAL Bridge lures vertically or horizontally as indicated by sonar up to three hours past sunrise or up to 90 minutes prior to sunset. Downrigging with #12 or #13 Pet Spoons will help cover ground to help you zero in on places where these other tactics may be used. Hybrid...

Downrigging with #12 or #13 Pet Spoons will help cover ground to help you zero in on places where these other tactics may be used. Hybrid are consistent on shrimp fished near bottom under greenlights from an anchored position under cover of darkness in the 30-foot range. Blue and channel catfish may be chummed to areas in the 20-30 foot range with cattle cubes and/or soured grain and fished successfully with Whisker Seeker Tackle cheese punchbait on #6 treble hooks. Sunfish are abundant in longer, shallower coves with wood, rock, and vegetative cover. Use worm on #14 long-shank hooks under sensitive slipfloats to catch bluegills, longears, redears, and green sunfish. Sunfishing is very kid-friendly right now.

STILLHOUSE HOLLOW RESERVOIR - Surface temperature 86.6F. Elevation 1.04 feet low and falling. White bass fishing is most consistent in the three hours following sunrise. Work MAL Bridge lures vertically using a "smoking" tactic with spinning gear allowing bait to fall all the way to bottom, removing slack, then cranking the lure at a moderate cadence

Inks Lake Fishing Report – Spring Transition

Inks Lake is at a normal level with stained water and about 2–4 feet of visibility. Water temperatures are hovering around 60°, and bass are moving through a mix of pre-spawn and early spawning patterns. Some fish are staging just off spawning areas while others are beginning to move shallow as the lake continues its transition toward the main spawn.

A reliable pattern has been fishing crankbaits and drop-shot rigs around submerged vegetation in roughly 8–12 feet of water. These areas are acting as key transition zones, and anglers who slow down and...

A reliable pattern has been fishing crankbaits and drop-shot rigs around submerged vegetation in roughly 8–12 feet of water. These areas are acting as key transition zones, and anglers who slow down and
thoroughly work productive stretches of vegetation are often able to pick up multiple bites from grouped fish.

Inks Lake Fishing Report – Late December 2025

Inks Lake is currently at a normal water level with lightly stained water and about 2–4 feet of visibility. Water temperatures are hovering around 60°, and the cooler, overcast days have been producing the most consistent action. With the recent drawdown behind us, the lake is continuing to settle into typical winter patterns.

Bass fishing has been best using finesse presentations, especially drop-shot rigged worms, along with crankbaits. One productive pattern has been targeting remaining patches of submerged vegetation in roughly 8–11 feet of water, where fish have been holding and feeding...

One productive pattern has been targeting remaining patches of submerged vegetation in roughly 8–11 feet of water, where fish have been holding and feeding
consistently. Another reliable option has been working shallow hard cover and structure in creek arms, where both drop-shots and squarebill crankbaits have been producing steady bites.

Overall, Inks Lake is offering solid winter fishing opportunities right now, especially for anglers willing to slow down and focus on quality structure and cover.

Solid fishing right now for numbers of bass with the occasional big bite! We are targeting submerged vegetation with drop shot rigged finesse worms and Texas-rigged stick worms.

Having to sift through the little ones to get to the big ones, but the big ones are there to be caught! There are definitely some bass spawning, but we are targeting the fish that are staging on offshore hard spots just outside of spawning areas with jigs and deep diving crankbaits.

Good fishing overall right now! We are catching them around rocky shorelines with Alabama Rigs and crankbaits. Water temps are hanging around 51-57 degrees. Water clarity is at about 4-6 ft.

Warmer water temps from the spring weather have the fish just about ready to spawn, and we're putting clients on some huge fish and tons of good numbers right now. The dates are available but filling super quickly!

Andy was great. Very knowledgeable and personable. The effort he put in to make this early season hunt as successful as possible did not go unnoticed. We had fun and great conversations. I would definitely book again.

Tough day on the water but was grateful for the effort Clayton put in. He scouted for days before the trip and unfortunately the birds just werent down yet, but he gave us every chance we could get for the birds that were around. Looking forward to hunting with him again in a week or two when more birds are down in central TX.
