If you are visiting the area and staying in hotels on the beach, you have probably noticed some effects of Red Tide. The first things you may notice are a scratchy throat and coughing. The next thing you may witness are dead fish. Unfortunately, there has been a Red Tide bloom that has continued to plague the Pinellas coastline and kill fish for over three months now. The good news is there are no signs of Red Tide in upper Tampa Bay where I’m located and the fishing is excellent. The snook, redfish and seatrout are plentiful and more than willing to take a bait. So, what are you waiting for? Book your adventure now, and let’s go catch some fish!

Whirlwind! Everyday brought different direction of winds the past week. The warmer waters helped keep the fishing consistent. Snook fishing provided anglers steady action, wether live baiting or using Rapala twitch baits both created drag screaming action. Mangrove shorelines, docks and seawalls great areas to find the linesiders. The past week provided multiple species of snook for anglers common and fat snook most prevalent. The channels and drop offs have provided steady action for a wide variety of species. Jacks, mackerel, snapper, ladyfish, snook, drum and many other fish being caught. Shrimp, jigs and top water Rapala skitter walks all methods to entice strikes. Anglers had great numbers of fish during outings, many trips averaged 8 or more different species. Always fun when you never know what’s going to strike on the other end of the line. Well that is the fishing report for the past week hope you all enjoyed. Remember you can’t catch them from the couch, so get out there and get hooked up. Tight Lines!

Waters have warmed back up and a variety of fish are slipping out to bite the hooks again.Few flounders not far from shore in the Gulf are still giving it up. Tasty bright red vermillion snappers are being caught as well, when the seas lay down here and there.

Fishing report from Darius K. in Sarasota, Florida

The bite has been hotter than the weather over the past couple weeks. We have been catching a ton of nice sized sheepshead , black drum, redfish , trout , and snook

Fishing report from Craig K. in Jupiter, Florida

Happy New Year! Hard to believe January has arrived, wishing everyone a healthy, happy fishing season. Cold arctic blast for south Florida is long gone, back to fun in sun. The waters are warming up and the fish are happy. Tarpon fishing is turning back on water temperatures are rising triggering the silver king’s appetite. Outgoing and first of of incoming great times to target tarpon near channels and points, using live baits and DOA Terror Eyz. The tarpon are ranging in size from 5 to 50 pounds. Snook fanatics the linesiders are abundant in channels and along mangrove shorelines. Live baits and Rapala twitch baits entice the strikes. Sea walls and docks holding snook, also bridges great area to locate bigger snook. Jack cravelle have really shown up taking residence near channels and deeper holes. Small minnow schools have been abundant so the jacks are crashing these schools. Drum, snapper, bluefish and permit have also been around for anglers to tango with. Shrimp and small jigs near bottom get the strike. Well that is the fishing report for the past week. Remember you can’t catch them from the couch, so get out there and get hooked up. Tight Lines!

e have had some cold mornings in Sarasota Florida and the water is cold! We ended the year with water temperatures in the 50's in some places. With these cold water temperatures our customers enjoyed targeting Sheepshead, Snappers and Grunts on our nearshore reefs. On our warmer days we focused on fishing the docks and rocks in areas that the water was warmer in Sarasota Bay and were able to find luck targeting Redfish and Snook! We also have found a few Pompano as well as schools of big Jack Crevalle in our back country creeks.

Happy Holidays! Hope everyone had a great Christmas. The past week brought cheer, presents and very cold air to South Florida. Arctic blast! The past week brought extremely cold air to the south Florida area. Snook fishing slowed down a bit as water temperatures plummeted. Snook were being caught, along seawalls, docks, channels and on mud flats. Live shrimp and DOA 3” shrimp great baits to get the strike. Big schools of jack’s presented non stop action for anglers. DOA C.A.L. 3” shad tail, live baits and Rapala skitter walks all enticed jacks to strike. Bluefish, mackerel, drum, ladyfish, and snappers, also striking baits, creating rod bending action for anglers. Tarpon fishing was great before the front, as the front pushed through the tarpon locked down in deep cuts and channels. Once in a while, you would get a strike using a live shrimp or a Doa Terror Eyz. Well that is a fishing report for the past week. Hope you all enjoyed. Remember you cannot catch them from the couch, so get out there and get hooked up. Tight Lines!

The water has been cooling off and starting to push fish up into the creeks. We have been getting on a lot of jacks, snook, and small tarpon. Bait has still been around and there are a lot of it. With the weather cooling off its making it beautiful out to fish
