Redfishing has been red hot! We have also got some nice Black Drum, Jacks, and even snook in the mix. When we finally get the sustained warmer weather, the snooker bite will improve drastically.

    Fishing is good.

Fishing report from Ron B. in Islamorada, Florida

The fishing has been decent. There's a biomass of trout in the bay right now and they're hungry the water temps are equalizing and thusly the snook have started bighting again the red fish we were blessed with a few weeks ago have seemingly left, mackerel in the outer bay and gulf are chewing the bottom paint off and if you can make it out there the cobia are bighting in the gulf. Around town small snapper can be found pretty easy and plenty of Jack action as well.

Fishing has been consistently good for Redfish and Sheepshead, with a grab bag of other species. Black Drum, Seatrout, Jacks and Mangrove Snappers have all been in the mix. If the weather stays warm, expect Snook and Tarpon action to heat up quick!

With the cold fronts in the past, the winter months have produced warmer water temperatures and even hotter fishing.

Winter time fish are in full swing and yellow jacks are on top of the list. November-March is the best time of year to target this remarkable specie. They are a very fast hard fishing fish that run in large schools around the reef and shallow structures inshore. Yellow jacks are also great to eat making them a high value target. There has been a few Cobia being caught on the shallow wrecks this week along with snappers and barracudas. A live pinfish on a jig head is hard to beat to target those species.

Weather has been all over the place but still plenty of fish to be caught! It seems like charters are picking up a bit, but it's been a little slow the last couple months.
