01/18/2023 Bonito, False Albacore, Perch, Scup

The bite has been slow this week, between finding a good weather day to go and finding people that are brave enough to withstand the waves! The Bonita are thick as usual, the blackfin tuna have moved in closer to shore within 5 miles! The squid is thick and the tuna are right behind them! Plenty of small reef fish being caught and vermillion snapper! But not a lot of fish in season at the moment! Trigger are fun to catch even though we have to release them!

Fall fishing is in full swing here. Cooler temp have the fish fired up here on the crystal coast!!! I've been target false albacore a lot this month but started to switch over to speckled trout which is starting to pick up!

10/20/2022 False Albacore, Sheepshead, Spanish Mackerel

Red drum fishing has been very good sight casting and cut bait fishing for them. The trout are starting to really pick up as the wintering months get coming on casting jigs preferably z-mans 3 inch minno Z's have been working very good. A long with that the sheepshead fishing is picking up around the structures around the inlet and outside the inlet in the ocean.

Well they opened up red snappers for us on the weekends so even having a pretty good catch of red snappers and a few Triggerfish here and there for the trolling bite we've been catching a few Bonitas King mackerels and Spanish mackerels

Fishing has been really good out of the Morehead area. Inshore red drum have been loading up on shrimp, watching them bust working down the banks has been a lot of fun, mix in black drum and speckled trout with them. Near shore 1-3 lb bluefish, Spanish, and false albacore have been blitzing up and down the beach. Albacore aren't much table fare in my opinion but a damn good fight on light tackle! Bottom fishing is producing some spots, grey trout, hogfish, and puffers with the water temps getting cooler

Nearshore bite for fall has been off to a solid start. False Albacore, and really nice bluefish in topwater plugs with a consistent King Mackerel bite. Grey Trout and whiting showing up good work Spanish Mackerel still around perhaps for the next few weeks. Backwater bite is hot as well work good numbers of shrimp around Redfish have been plentiful with more and more Speckled Trout showing up each week. Lots of good quality fishing. It's really shaping up to be a great fall bite.

This Cold weather snap has the billfish spun up, 300lb blue was tagged and landed a sail , the trolling has produced Bonita and king mackerel! We are at the end of our season so we are slowing down but still plenty of Reef fish to catch before the gulf weather gets harsh for

The bite has still been good in October. We have the weekends open for red snapper but it has been hard to catch some of the bigger ones closer to shore. We have been catching other species though. Wahoo and blackfin tuna are supposed to venture in closer to shore this time of year. A few wahoo have been caught by some of my friends just 5-15 miles from the shore. The Destin rodeo is going on through October and many fish have been caught including a giant 300 lb Warsaw grouper! Large schools of bull redfish are starting to gather in the back bay areas. We came up on a school of bull reds crashing the top water and hooked into a 20 pound redfish the other day.
