Capt Juan was born and raised in beautiful Puerto Rico where the pristine Caribbean water was his playground. Since Capt Juan was in diapers he already had a fishing rod in hand spending as much time in the water as on land and building a passion for fishing and water sports that is as strong now as it's ever been. He fished both the inshore and offshore waters of Puerto Rico where he started building a vast amount off knowledge of sport fishing in both inshore waters and off shore.

As a young man Capt Juan joined the US Navy where he was station in California onboard the USS MT. Vernon. After traveling the world and learning about seamanship it was time to move on and seek a higher education. Capt Juan moved to Rhode Island where he enrolled at Johnson and Whales University and graduated with high honors and two degrees, one in Hospitality Management and the other in Travel and Tourism Management.
