Capt Juan was born and raised in beautiful Puerto Rico where the pristine Caribbean water was his playground. Since Capt Juan was in diapers he already had a fishing rod in hand spending as much time in the water as on land and building a passion for fishing and water sports that is as strong now as it's ever been. He fished both the inshore and offshore waters of Puerto Rico where he started building a vast amount off knowledge of sport fishing in both inshore waters and off shore.

As a young man Capt Juan joined the US Navy where he was station in California onboard the USS MT. Vernon. After traveling the world and learning about seamanship it was time to move on and seek a higher education. Capt Juan moved to Rhode Island where he enrolled at Johnson and Whales University and graduated with high honors and two degrees, one in Hospitality Management and the other in Travel and Tourism Management. After traveling the world and learning about seamanship it was time to move on and seek a higher education. Capt Juan moved to Rhode Island where he enrolled at Johnson and Whales University and graduated with high honors and two degrees, one in Hospitality Management and the other in Travel and Tourism Management. Somehow Capt Juan found time to guide part time on the waters of Narragansset Bay for
Striped Bass and giant Bluefish.

It was in Rhode Island that Capt Juan met his wife Kelley, a beautiful country girl from Chichester, New Hampshire. After graduation they both started working at the Cheeca Lodge and Spa in Islamorada, Florida Keys. It was then that Capt Juan decided that it was time to seek his real passion, fishing! Capt Juan is an easygoing, fun family man. There is nothing that Capt Juan loves more than sharing his passion for the water with his anglers. In 2008 our family was blessed with our first son Tony and two years later our second son Jimmy joined our family. Capt Juan is currently the Florida Sportsman Magazine weekend fishing forecaster for the Florida Keys backcountry and has been featured in the Florida Sportsman TV show and Florida Sportsman Magazine.
