Fly fishing Oklahoma's Mountain Fork River is done best with Captain Chris, one of the most experienced Oklahoma fly fishing guides around. Captain Chris discovered the Lower Mountain Fork River in 2007 after fly fishing from Banff Canada to the Appalachians.
After numerous annual visits, and after serving on the board of the Lower Mountain Fork River Foundation, Captain Chris decided to make the area his home in 2015. Locally, as landowners and business owners, he and his team have a personal stake in keeping the Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout fishery clean and improved each and every day.
Captain Chris and his team all guided trips to 3 anglers to ensure maximum level of attention. All equipment is provided, including rods, reels, flies, waders and boots. Simply purchase an Oklahoma fishing license and you're good to hit the water! Full day trips also include lunch at Beavers Bend Restaurant.

Wade your way into the water with Chris and prepare for an action-packed day of Trout fishing on the fly! You'll get to enjoy some of the best scenery and Trout fishing that Oklahoma has to offer with this trip on the Mountain Fork River. The Lower Mountain Fork River is a year-round trout fishery located in the beautiful Ouachita Mountains of southeastern Oklahoma just north of Broken Bow. One of the best tailwaters in the South, this beautiful river sustains natural Trout reproduction for great year-round fishing in both size and numbers. 20+ inch Brown and Rainbow Trout are caught often, and the Oklahoma state record Brown Trout was caught here (weighing 17.4 lbs!). On this half or full-day trip, Chris will take you to the Lower Mountain Fork River where you'll wade in the banks and go after some Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout. These Trout-heavy rivers are excellent for throwing your first fly-fishing casts, knocking off the rust on your casting skills, or going for as many fish as you can. Chris and his team of expert guides will show you plenty of tips to help get one on the line and are happy to guide anglers of any skill level! Chris or one of his guides will provide all rods, reels, waders and boots. They run Temple Fork Outfitters rods and reels with Cortland fly line. From Midge to Hexagenia and in between, the flies you will fish are specific to the river. All you need to bring is an Oklahoma fishing license. We recommend bringing polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat and any snacks or drinks you'll need on the water. You're also welcome to bring your own fly-fishing gear. Book your trip with Chris today and get ready for a productive day of fishing! Read More

Chris was a great guide. He made this a very educational trip and put us on plenty of fish. I would highly recommend booking a trip with him.
Great guide. Knew how to do the job and did it.
Chris and Kyle are excellent guides. I’ve been on two of their trips and both times it was MULTIPLE fish in the net. I highly recommend these two!
Chris is a great guide that provides foundational fly fishing insights. We had a great time on our 5/30 half day guide trip on the Lower Fork. Thanks Chris!
Thank you for an amazing time!! Chris, Jeff & Kyle were the absolute best! It was first time fly fishing and now I am ready to by my own reel! Highly recommend these guys, we will be back!
This was my second trip with Chris and this time I brought a friend. We had a great 1/2 day with Zach and Austin. Great trip for beginners.
Had a great half day on the river with Chris. We went right to the fish and a very productive session. I was concerned about severe weather in the area but Chris kept me informed in the days before and everything turned out fine. This is a great trip for people who want to try fly fishing ... I will definitely be going back. …
Chris and Kit were both amazing. When the first fishing spot was loaded with anglers, he took us to his secret location off the beaten path. It was secluded and jumping with fish. It was my first time fly fishing, but after he taught us the cast, we were reeling in trout in no time. I'd book him again if I was fishing in the area. …
Chris, was a really outstanding guide and teacher. My son and I had a great time! Chris was willing to work around the weather and each of us caught multiple trout. Outstanding day!! Highly recommend it.
I've been a fishing guide for 25 years so I've got a great sense of an anglers skill level and abilities. These guys are the real deal! My son and I had a great time fishing with Chris at Beavers Bend Fly Fishing Guide Service yesterday morning. My son had never held a fly rod before and my skills are well "rough around the edges" but Chris got us on fish FAST. Chris is a great guy, super patient, personable and very knowledgable about the local area and fishing the LMF. He also went out of his way to dodge the weather and make our trip happen. We had a great time and I highly recommend reaching out to Chris if you're headed to the Lower Mountain Fork area. I had a great time fishing with Chris (and swapping guide war stories) and will definitely look him up when we get back in the area. …
I was worried about being new to fly fishing and booking a guided trip but I'm glad I did! Chris and Cit are great! Ended up going on 2 trips with them! Both of the guides were very professional and very patient with a new fly fishermen. Both days all my needs were met and I truly had a blast! I highly recommend this guide service. …
