About Your Guide

Trevor Torppa

Independent Guide
Captain Trevor is a Washington native and experienced angler who has spent years fishing the rivers of the Pacific Northwest, along with time in Alaska further developing his skills. Growing up in Washington and spending time at a family cabin in Kenai, Alaska helped shape his approach and build a strong foundation in both Salmon and Steelhead fisheries.

He brings a disciplined and focused mindset to guiding, shaped in part by his background playing college baseball. That experience translated into a strong work ethic and commitment to being prepared, both of which carry over into his time on the water.

Trevor fishes these rivers across the seasons and uses a range of techniques to stay on fish, adjusting based on conditions and timing. He works with anglers of all skill levels and aims to provide a professional, enjoyable experience while sharing his knowledge of the fishery.

For him, guiding is about more than just fishing—it’s about spending time on the water, helping others improve, and creating a day that people remember.

About Your Trip

Fish the rivers of Southwest Washington for Salmon and Steelhead with a trip built around seasonal patterns, proven techniques, and time on the water. These guided trips take place on systems like the Kalama, Lewis, Cowlitz, Elochoman, Naselle, and surrounding rivers, all known for producing quality fish throughout the year.

Trips are offered as either a 3/4 day (6 hours) or a full day (8 hours), with the target species depending on the season. From
October through December, you’ll be targeting Coho Salmon. January through March focuses on Winter Steelhead, followed by Spring Chinook from April through May. Each season brings a different approach, and the techniques used will adjust based on conditions and what’s working best at the time.

You’ll fish using a variety of methods including bobber fishing, drift fishing, back trolling, casting spinners, and twitching jigs. There are also opportunities for centerpin and fly fishing, giving you a well-rounded experience on the river. Whether you’re newer to fishing or have experience, the goal is to keep things productive and engaging throughout the day.

All rods, reels, tackle, bait, and lures are provided, along with water. You’ll just need to bring a valid Washington fishing license, along with any snacks, drinks, and weather-appropriate clothing for the day.

This is a straightforward, technique-driven river trip that follows the runs and focuses on putting you in the right place at the right time.
