He has been fishing the waters of Southwest Florida for over a decade and has a knack for catching the big ones. Set sail for a memorable trip in the Backbay and Inshore waters of Sanibel, Fort Myers Beach, and Bonita Springs. Captain Drew offers conventional inshore and fly fishing. Inshore fishing seems to be one of Captain Drews's most popular options and consists of fishing the mangroves and oyster bars with live baitfish. In the shallow backwaters, you'll have the opportunity to catch Redfish, Snook, Trout, Sharks, Snapper, Flounder, Jack Crevalle, Sheepshead, and many more. The possibilities are endless. Captain Drew provides all the gear you'll need for a successful day out on the water including rods, reels, tackle, bait, fishing licenses, and ice. All he recommends you bring are some extra snacks and drinks, and he'll take care of the rest! Read More
Captain Drew is a very knowledgeable and great guide all around. Despite tough conditions he tried several methods to make sure we still caught a good number of fish. We had a great time getting to know him and being guided by him.
If you decide to go fishing , go with Captain Drew Underwood ! My husband and I fished with him yesterday and had a great day. We wanted to go snook fishing and Captain Drew graciously agreed. We caught bait with a big cast net and off we went to the mangroves. A wonderful day! …
Had a really great time and caught a lot of fish. Captain Drew knows the waters well and how to get you in the best position to catch fish taking all the conditions into account. When conditions are not ideal that is when experience counts and he has it. Fun guy and enjoyed our time with him and the conversations! …
Not knowing the ins and outs of Florida fishing, we booked an afternoon tour. Captain Drew contacted me early the morning of our booking and asked if we could go earlier. We could and did. From 10 to about 1 we were catching fish, he took us to good places. Then about 1:15 it got so hot the action fell off a cliff as he thought. He’s personable and knowledgeable. We had a good outing, would book with him again. …
Great Experience. Following a holiday weekend with tons of pressure on the local fish population, conditions were less than ideal, especially with the absence of bait. Captain Drew, however, made it happen. Lots of trout, snapper, a small red grouper, Pompano and this bad boy
We had a great day on the water on top of it being an absolutely gorgeous day. Do you know exactly where to go and if they weren’t there he knew exactly where to go next. We got speckle trout, grouper and a ton of snook. We were fishing pilchards under a proper Bobber and also kissing them directly under the mangroves. The action started a little bit slow in the first 45 minutes but after that it was pretty hectic and incredible man fun. Drew is a great guy knows his stuff and I highly recommend him to be your fishing guide when you’re in the area! …
Great fishing trip. Drew was a wonderful professional. Polite, patient, and educational. He showed us exactly where to go where no one else was fishing and we were not bothered. We got away from gusty winds this in private areas with lots of fish. He showed us the importance of how to cast exactly in the right spot we got a fish almost every cast. Caught more fish than ever. Rate this captain and charter A+++. …
We had a great time on the water today with Capt. Drew! So once again, SW Florida was dealing with red tide when we visited. I was worried our trip would be cancelled. Capt. Drew did a great job communicating with me ahead of time and explained we’d be releasing all of our fish because of the red tide. He offered a complete refund if that’s not what we were looking for. I told him we understood and just wanted to catch some fish. We left the dock and immediately went to cast net for bait fish. Once the live well was filled Capt. Drew had us reeling in fish within minutes. He was willing to do as much or as little as we requested to keep us catching fish all afternoon. We were looking for instruction, not someone to spoon feed us and he was fantastic. He offered tips all day, but did it with style and tact. The action was solid all afternoon. Drew was extremely knowledgeable, patient and funny. We wouldn’t hesitate to book another charter with Chum Crazy and Capt. Drew! …
Drew took me and my three boys out on an inland fishing trip. It was a windy day so we found some sheltered fishing spots. We caught trout, catfish, pufferfish, Spanish mackerel, and lots of sheepshead and mangrove snapper. We also got to see several dolphins up close while fishing. The kids had a contest to see who could catch the most fish in the last 8 minutes. They caught a combined 23 fish in just 8 minutes! …
We decided at the last minute to go fishing. Drew was available and he had good ratings so we went with him. In spite of rainy, chilly weather, we had a great time. We wanted fish to take home and eat for dinner so Drew suggested mangrove snapper. We caught a bunch of fish, but only a few keepers. Drew kept all 4 of us geared up, baited, and casting and catching. We kept him busy. And we enjoyed his company. …
