Mike is a USCG licensed Captain with over 40 years of experience fishing the Texas Gulf coast. He is known for his willingness to run further and target the larger species that lurk in our Gulf waters. He is a native of Brazoria County and grew up fishing the inshore and offshore waters from Galveston to Matagorda. Along with fishing, Captain Mike is an experienced dog trainer and waterfowl guide, hunting the prairies and marshes from Anahuac to Rockport.

Captain Mike is also an accomplished writer and magazine columnist, with notable publications including Texas Saltwater Fishing Magazine. He has severed for decades with industry groups to represent and preserve the publics access to our great fishery in the Gulf. Mike served for years as the President of The Charter Fisherman's Association, Representing the charter industry with members from the South Texas Valley to Rhode Island, and has testified in front Congress on more than one occasion concerning fisheries issues and the effects of federal management on our fishing industry.

advisory panels lending his experience to help shape current regulations from a fisherman's perspective, as well as his hands on research in the western Gulf, including tagging and recapture, hydro-acoustics, and biological sampling from the Mississippi river to Brownsville Texas, work that is currently being used to help assess stock levels and manage our fisheries Gulf-wide.

Capt. Mike will bring his lifetime of knowledge and experience to bear on every trip he offers to make it as successful and enjoyable as he possibly can
