at all except at the end to ask for tips but all we caught was 3 under sized tune and threw one back.
After paying $750 for this tour I would never do it again I felt uncomfortable. And disappointed. Out of the 6.5 hours of this suppose to be 8 hour tour, we troll with absolutely no bites or nibbles for 5.5 hours.
This what pretty much a boat tour and not a fish trip. I have taken trips in Hawaii, costa Ric, Spain, Puerto Rico and Washington and never had i worse experience than this.
I would not recommend them. I am in peak fish season and caught nothing.
I booked this for my birthday and I am so disappointed and wish I never did it

On the day of your trip, live sardines were not available, and we only managed to get two small bags of squid. With that bait we worked as best as possible and were able to land two tunas and a skipjack. During the trip, you also had two sharks on the line, but
as explained onboard, sharks cannot be kept in our waters due to local regulations.

Once we ran out of squid, we informed you that we would change techniques to search for bigger game such as marlin, dorado, or wahoo. Unfortunately, there was no bite that afternoon. Offshore fishing in Los Cabos is primarily done by trolling, with several lines set at different distances behind the boat, which we also explained during the trip.

We know that when the fish don’t cooperate, it can be frustrating, but please be assured that we did everything possible under the day’s conditions. Our goal is always to deliver the best experience we can, and we value your feedback to help us improve for future guests.

The crew did a good job putting us in a position to catch six small tuna as well as a few other small fish. They also did a great job trolling and we ended up catching a 200 pound marlin. However, a few things to know about the boat. When they said they will have a cooler and water… That does not include ice. So after about an hour all the beer and water that we had was warm. Further, I’m not sure when the pictures were taken of the boat, but they were not in this decade. The boat actually had holes in the floor so we had to be careful where you stepped and the bathroom area and the lower section of the boat was a mess. Also, one of the fishing chairs in the rear of the boat only had two screws, holding it in place, and it was cracked, and it would rock from side to side… Definitely not safe.

Again, the crew did a great job of putting us in a position to catch fish. However, the boat was nowhere close to what was representative in the photos.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us — and congratulations on the 200-pound marlin! We’re glad to hear the crew provided you with a productive day on the water and took you to the right fishing grounds.

At the same time, we sincerely appreciate your feedback regarding the condition of the boat. We take all comments seriously, especially when it comes to safety and guest comfort. We want you (and future guests)
to know that the boat undergoes a full annual maintenance and refurbishment every year, and that process is scheduled for this September. This includes structural checks, cosmetic updates, safety equipment replacement, and deep cleaning — from top to bottom.

We’ve also taken note of the cooler and ice issue, and we’re already making changes to ensure all charters include enough ice onboard to keep drinks cold for the entire trip.

Thank you again for fishing with us and for being honest — we strive to improve every day and your review helps us do just that.

First of all, these guys can and do catch fish. That they do it without particularly good equipment and virtually no electronics (one boat had a VHF
and a GPS/no transducer, another , the panga, didn't have either.), says to me that the fishing is pretty good! On day one my wife was out and we stayed in a lee so she wouldn't get sea sick. The sierra mackerel bite was pretty much non stop and we had our limit in pretty short order. We tried jigging in deeper water but no one was home but on the way back towards the fleet we saw some bait and stopped off for a crazy jack crevalle bite that would have lasted far longer than my arms could take! They were blasting surface plugs in spectacular fashion but would have hit anything you threw at them, they were quite aggressive, We also got a few small skipjacks and small grouper (released) as well. Made Mackerel cevechi for dinner.

On day 2 my wife stayed at the apartment and Poncho and I went out in a panga. He used land ranges to put up on a shelf in about 150 ft of water to the east of the marina by about 10 miles. It was pretty windy and rough for that little boat but there were a couple of crazy commercial handliners in the same area in an even smaller boat! We had a few bonito and then Captain Poncho jigged a nice red snapper before I nailed a 55 pound AJ on a Squidtrex with a 25 pound flurocarbon leader. AJ Steaks for dinner was a lot like swordfish.

Day 3 Captain Poncho had the center console again and my wife was with us. We went to "the mackerel area" again and we were getting them quite steadily even though there was no live bait available and we were using frozen stuff. It didn't seem to matter to the fish. While drifting for the mackerel I jigged a soft plastic near the bottom (50-60 ft) and got several large sculpins, a couple of triggerfish and a bonito.
Kept only the bonito for fish tacos.
All in all it was a great trip well taken care of by good people. My only suggestion would be to bring good tackle if you have it.

This was the best deep sea trip I’ve been on. And I’ve been on a lot. These guides knew their stuff and legitimately wanted us to catch fish. Such a hard working knowledgeable crew and it paid off. We came home with every fish I could imagine.

An amazing trip! 3 couples set out for a 6-hour experience on the Sea of Cortez - we were not disappointed...caught 2 marlins, one of which was the largest catch of our lives at 150 pounds. Jaime was great, he set us up quick and easy. Got our fishing licenses at the marina on the morning of our trip. Coming back again next year...

The driver had to call someone to come to site and have us pay for our bait and licenses which we did not receive anything for and our credit card just shows the persons name, not the company.

We were a family of four with no experience and nothing was explained to us. There was very limited communication throughout the six hours. At one point they stopped at a site to fish but that included the two of them fishing with nothing communicated to us. We were in rough waters waiting what felt like, to catch their own dinner. We finally had to ask to leave the area. When we came across whales and wanted to watch there was no option they continued to their destination.

In the end we caught one tuna and two Maui mahi and were able to see and take a picture with two of them. Then the last they just threw in the cooler.

From a safety perspective there was black smoking coming from the engine, no instruction of boat, no life jackets that we know of, etc.

When we arrived back our transportation was waiting. Smoothest part of the process.

Rather disappointing trip. Would not recommend for families or individuals first time.

2) The bait is already on board when you arrive; you just need to pay. The fishing licenses are sent as PDFs to the captain in case the navy
stops us, and he can show them to you. If we don't have licenses on board, it would result in a $7,000 USD fine, and we really don't want to be fined, especially not $20 USD per person.

3) I apologize if the crew's communication was slow. In this season, fishing is slow, and they focus a lot on catching fish to ensure customers leave happy, so they have to work hard.

4) We have all types of safety measures on board, like life jackets. To operate a charter, we need a special permit that requires having everything on board for any emergency.

5) If the plan was for fishing and not whale watching, it's because they knew the fishing had to be quick so you could catch something.

6) Remember, the charter boats are not new, but we do maintain them well.

We're glad our crew caught fish for you; that's the most important thing for us, and it's why you engage in this activity.

Thank you very much.
