Captain Roy has been fishing the Texas coast for over 30 years and worked on several private & tournament boats. He is licensed vessel captain by the United States Coast Guard and has extensive safety training. Growing up in New Orleans, Captain Roy used to fish the salt water on weekends. That’s where his passion for fishing started. After moving to the DFW area in 1980, he started guiding on Lake Tawakoni and has spent 10 years fishing for Hybrid and Striper. However, his love for salt water brought him to the South Padre Island area to guide for Red Snapper and other species that he grew up catching. Captain Roy will take you on an inshore offshore adventure searching for these (sometimes massive) sea monsters, which also make for a delightful dinner. The powerful fish gather in droves near Port Isabel, TX, waters which Captain Roy has been fishing for years. So grab up to six of your friends and family, choose between a half or full day on the seas, and start hauling ‘em over the rail!

On this voyage, you will be aboard a 33’ World Cat powered by twin 600hp Suzuki engines. The vessel is equipped with a Outriggers and a Live Bait Well, so you can spend hours trolling through the Gulf of Mexico. While you troll, you can bump tunes using the Multimedia system on board. Just sit back, relax, and wait for the sweet sound of a screaming reel!

All you need to bring on this trip is sun protection, appropriate clothing, snacks, and beverages. It can get hot out there, so make sure you have sunblock, polarized lenses, and a hat. Also––you want to look cool when you take a trophy picture with your catch! Captain Roy will provide all the rods, reels, tackle, and bait needed for a great trip.

just got back from an offshore trip out of South Padre with Captain Roy and Becky and it kicked ass. We went out for a full day and hit some killer spots. The reds were biting good and I pulled in a bunch of solid ones, including one big boy that was close to 20 pounds. Fought like hell!

Roy and Becky were laid back, knew exactly what they were doing, and kept the fish coming all day. We limited out on big red snapper and the cooler was packed.

Seas stayed pretty calm and we had a great time. If you want to catch some real monsters, book with Captain Roy.

Hey Captain Roy here with another Red Snapper report. Our Federal Season continues to produce hogs each and every trip. The bigger fish have actually been caught at 70-100ft of water suspended above the wrecks. We have been hammering quick limits with cut bait and live piggy perch.
