About Your Trip
This is a true expedition into the wild heart of the Amazon basin where explosive topwater eats, powerful river species, and remote jungle conditions define the experience
The Orinoco system offers a rare mix of fisheries—from class IV rapid systems targeting 20+ lb Payara and giant Sardinata to calmer waters holding Peacock Bass, Catfish, and other aggressive predators
Fishing here is dynamic and technical—expect to rotate through casting, popping, jigging, and sight fishing, often in
the same day depending on location and conditions
The trip begins in Bogotá with included accommodations before flying to Puerto Carreño, followed by a 4-hour overland journey through remote savannah to reach the river—wildlife sightings are part of the travel experience
Fishing is structured in phases—starting with Payara-focused days in rapid systems, then transitioning upriver into Peacock Bass waters, changing camps as you move deeper into the system
Accommodations are high-end expedition-style camps, featuring individual tent setups with full beds, marine toilets, chef-prepared meals, and daily laundry service—remote but comfortable
Boats are typically shared between two anglers, maximizing fishing time and access to tight, productive water
Beyond fishing, the setting is unmatched—this is one of the most biodiverse regions on earth with regular encounters with river dolphins, giant otters, anaconda, and more
This is a hands-on, immersive trip built for anglers who want variety, challenge, and true wilderness—limited access, low pressure, and world-class fishing throughout
Everything from domestic flights to meals, guides, and camp logistics is handled—leaving you to focus on the fishing and the experience
This is not a lodge trip—it’s a full-scale Amazon expedition with elite fishing and unmatched scenery
