Capt. Tyson is a USCG licensed and Insured fishing charter captain. He operates out the Clearwater/St. Petersburg area specializing in a wide variety of species including Redfish, Snook, Trout, Grouper, Kingfish, and the might Tarpon amongst the numerous other species our pristine waters of the Florida Gulf Coast have to offer.

He has been working in the fishing industry for most of his life. He started his career fishing the rivers, streams, and lakes of the Utah mountains mainly for rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout with a fly rod. He also worked as a guide and instructor teaching people how to tie flies and fly fish. He moved to Florida in 2000 with a want and desire to become a full time fishing guide. While working in the areas top Tackle and Marnie shop, Dogfish Tackle, he received his Captains license and began his Charter career. Now a full time charter captain and father of two, Capt. How did you get started guiding?

I worked on an offshore charter boat my first Cpl of years to build up sea time. I got my license and began running charters on my own in 2005.

What makes you different from other guides?

I think like most people who own their own business customer satisfaction is my goal. It’s my name and reputation on the line each day I’m on the water and you can’t pick up a new reputation back at the dock.

Tyson is the real deal. He put me on fish quickly and if I want such a terrible angler I am sure I would’ve caught more lol. What an amazing experience and I would go with Titan again in a heartbeat. He was a wealth of knowledge and I’m thankful he was willing to show me the area. Unfortunately, he ruined me from ever wanting to freshwater fish after a great day in the shallows. I couldn’t have asked for a more chill captain that knew the waterways like the back of his hand.

He has earned my business the next time I’m anywhere near Clearwater/Tampa. What a great day.

Did a nice job trying to get us on fish. Hustled his rear off. Seemed a bit overwhelming having 4 on the boat who had never fished the flats before and several being relative novices for just 1 crew member. As a result about 1/3 the time 1-2 of our party weren’t fishing as we could have been. He was working hard though … much appreciated! Would highly recommend a 2nd crew member when there are inexperienced people it will be a tight fit though but think it would improve the experience.
Tyson was nice, polite, knowledgeable and very patient thanks for the experience. Would highly recommend especially if you’ve done this type of fishing before.
