Captain Gary is a USCG and Texas Parks and Wildlife licensed guide who enjoys fishing East and West Matagorda Bays, the Matagorda Surf, Matagorda Jetties, and the Colorado River. He started fishing at 8 years old and has fished the East and West Bay complex for over two decades. He started guiding in 2013 and has thoroughly enjoyed every second of it.
Captain Gary will tailor his trips to the preferences and skill levels of his anglers - just let him know what you’re looking for! He specializes in catching Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Flounder but frequently chases Black Drum and Tripletail. He is a diverse fisherman with expertise in wade fishing, drifting, spinning, and Flounder gigging.

Come explore the Gulf Coast with Captain Gary! On this 5-hour (half-day) or 8-hour (full day) trip, you’ll be targeting the plethora of Gator Trout that inhabit these waters. You could also reel in some Black Drum, Flounder, Redfish, and Sheepshead. You’ll be fishing from Captain Gary’s 24 ft SVT Tran Cat Center console which can accommodate four anglers. Make sure you bring a valid Texas saltwater fishing license, food and drinks for the day, sunscreen, a hat, and a cooler to take home your day’s catch.
