What’s the biggest fish you’ve caught?
I have caught plenty of great fish over my lifetime both saltwater and freshwater fishing. My most memorable fish was a 46" Snook. These fish were in a pothole in a bay just off the Tampa Bay. We fished this Snook for a couple of weeks. They were all LOGS! I ran through there one day fun fishing and dumped a bunch of bait. Then made a cast and BAM! A SMOKER on the line! That big girl laid out at 46". Its a personal best that I am sure will not be beaten by myself. The biggest fish ever was on my boat. My old man of Fathers Day. The landed a 300+ pound Goliath Grouper. We had our limit on Gags and the last Gag Grouper pops was reeling in was eaten at the side of the boat by a GIANT GOLIATH GROUPER. After 2 hours he landed that beast. The we had a live release.

How did you get started guiding?
It all started by a passion for fishing. Then I bought a boat and started guiding. Heck I have fished here my whole life like a crack head from childhood to today. There is nothing hard about it. Catch bait and catch fish. At least that's what I thought in my younger days. I started with a nice boat. It had a tower built and a huge livewell but it was just the wrong boat. Just to small. Unfortunately, then I had no money and could barely afford the payment when I started out. A few years later the right boat came along and its a beast! I got a little older and got a little smarter. When you book with Capt. Wayne. We fly first class aboard a Hewes 21 Redfisher with tons of space and a comfortable ride. She rides well in seas and drafts shallow water. Welcome aboard Cadillac Style!
What makes you different from other guides?
There are a few things. Personality and patience, kids are welcome. They will have a great time from catching fish or if they need a break to take a swim. It is hot in the summer sometimes a kid just needs a break. If you are looking for more of a hard core fishing trip. Yes we can do that too. This is not some cookie cutter operation. It your day on the water. We will fish for the mother nature gives us. If want to go out and throw lures all day, I am your guy. Live bait fishing and catch some Snook or Trout. Maybe jump a Tarpon. Or chase bait schools to catch Mackerel or King Mackerel. I am here to have a GREAT TIME! And so are YOU!
