Captain John invites you to join him on the Ida Lake chain! Only two miles from the Atlantic ocean, next to Delray Beach, a freshwater trip on a saltwater fishing scene awaits. Besides the usual public spots, with Captain John, you’ll have exclusive access to a private lake.

Captain John specializes in catching exotic species, which is in this area Clown Knifefish (Clown Featherback). The lakes are also full of Peacock Bass, but you can also catch Snakehead and Largemouth Bass. You’ll mainly use light tackle and even catch fish on a fly.

Everything starts on a 17’ Carolina Skiff boat. There’s enough room for 3 guests to join, It takes only a few minutes to find a great spot and start fishing. Whenever you want to switch to something more relaxing and enjoyable, ditch the saltwater fishing and join Captain John at the lake!

John will take you on a fly fishing excursion through the productive waters of Delray Beach, Florida, specifically the Ida Lake Chain. You’ll be fishing aboard John’s 17’ Carolina skiff that accommodates up to 3 anglers. She is powered by a 30 HP Mercury engine and a wireless trolling motor. This motor is extremely quiet, which makes it easier to sneak up on those easily spooked fish. On this 2, 4, 6, or 8-hour fishing trip, you’ll be targeting exotic freshwater species, including Clown Knifefish, Crappie, Hybrid Striped Bass, Largemouth Bass, and Peacock Bass. John will provide all fly fishing equipment, but feel free to bring your own. They will also provide all rods, reels, tackle, and lures.
