Captain Jason “Butterfly”, is no stranger to the waters of Flamingo and Carrillo, Costa Rica. With three offshore world records to his name—including two sailfish and one marlin—as well as one of the largest roosterfish ever caught inshore, Capt Jason's reputation as a Big Game hunter speaks for itself.

After spending 11 years guiding in the region before his retirement in 2017, Capt. Jason continued to expand his expertise across the globe. He fished the Pacific waters of Hawaii alongside Capt. Russel Tanaka of Magic Sportfishing, explored the blue currents of Fiji with Capt. Mike Hennessey, and navigated the Bahamian islands aboard multiple vessels—learning, refining, and perfecting his craft with every adventure.

Among his most meaningful achievements was his friendship and mentorship with the late Capt. Bart Miller of Black Bart Lures & Hook Harmeling of The Billfish Report. Together Bart & Jason fished the Bahamas and West Palm, and even took home a victory at Capt. Miller’s final marlin tournament.
